    By congestion I mean the limited number of channels on 802.11b/g and the number of other services on 2.4ghz (Phones, etc).

    Hornerjo- I didn't think EvDO could cover as much terrain (~30miles) as WiMAX (802.16). WiMax does seem to be able to offer more bandwidth. At least on paper.

    There is always NLOS to deal with. There is one company using 802.16 "compliant" equipment from Wi-Lan out in Oregon. It's funny though how they have this switch directly pointed to their access point. In short, I don't think you will see any tangible deployments of 802.16 anything for a while.
