alternate to 28 or any major artery.

If anything happens on 28/Waxpool/Greenway/Toll Road including rain/snow/accidents etc, it causes havoc for anyone that lives past Ashburn Village Blvd.

it has taken me one hour to get from Broadlands to 28. (This happened twice this week actually.)

How about extending shellhorn all the way to Route-28?

How about making GREEDway a FREEway?

Nothing is ever FREE!! Your property taxes would go up, the sales tax would go up, they would get the money somehow :)

    an innocent question?

Is there not a difference between loudoun and fairfax county property tax rates? There is no toll on I-66, but why in 267?

Also, major portion of greedway money goes to the Australian company....

The Greenway did not make money for a long time.

I was kidding about property taxes going up, just making the point that nothing is free. Universal health care gets paid by someone, home loan bailout gets paid by someone.

If a group of investors invested and took the risk to build and maintain the greedway, they get to charge whatever the market will pay. And judging by how busy it is, people are willing to pay for the convenience to use it. Agree it's a rip, but I don't have to commute so we largely avoid it. My assumption--others will know better--is that perhaps it's the fault of whoever allowed the road to be set up this way.

    There is an old saying,

"Figures never lie, but liars can figure."

I am insinuating that it is possible to make the books at the Greenway appear unprofitable. In the hands of a clever accountant with flexible morals, even Microsoft could appear to be losing money.

Widen Belmont Ridge Road - It is too scary to think of all the Briar Woods kids that drive it each day with the way it is now. Witht the high school on that road, it should be a priority!

How long have you lived here? There wasn't enough traffic using the road to make a profit, for quite a while.

Now that there is a new Board of Supervisors, I believe that HCA may reintroduce BRMC. Part of their proffer was to widen Belmont Ridge Road from the Greenway to Brambleton to 4 lanes.
They would pay for it. Currently, the county has no money and there are no plans to widen Belmont Ridge from Truro Parish to Brambleton.

We received a notice for an upcoming hearing or informational meeting about widening Belmont Ridge from the intersection with 267 to Route 7 from 2 to 4 lanes. I believe the hearing is during the Christmas holiday so I wondered if that was purposeful?!

I hope it happens. It's an accident waiting to happen. It's a scary road for us adults - but even scarier for new and inexperienced drivers. But, it needs to extend to Brambleton and the high school.

Extend Barrister St 0.6 miles to connect Loundoun County Parkway to Old Ox. This would give us all the alternative route to 28 we want to avoid the mess on waxpool. As someone else pointed out, why go north from broadlands just to go south on 28. Just complete this stretch of road!

The Sparrow I have been saying this for years and years, it is parallel to the greenway and will help tremendously when all those approved mega projects along the greenway come on line which will be soon.

I have seen the current proposed road map and a lot does not make sense. That is the easiest solution right now and the least costly and the good neighbor developers should pay for it right now. Like one Loudoun put through LCP several years ago way before they will start building.

The other waxpool solution is shellhorn to the sterling interchange, not what is proposed right now dumping both roads onto ox rd. If that does happen, dumping two major commuter routes all to ox rd, in a few years this area will be so congested it will not be worth living in especially for the commuters. It does not take a rocket scientist to know the real downtown of loudoun is along the greenway and major traffic comes with it.

Of course you have to go through the walls of flex to make this happen and the sooner the property is tied up the better because if they cut off these routes you will have wall we cannot ever get through easily ever again.

I have seen this happen in other places routes blocked off and the nightmare begins.

And look at all the new construction popping up around us as we speak. All that brings more and more traffic. All that stuff is being built without any sign of any new commuter routes being built. The waxpool task force if it wants to do anything needs to speed it self up and it has been around for almost a year without doing anything of any consequence. Roads take years to build. And all I see is more and more already approved construction with no roads in the works. There is millions and millions and millions of already approved sq ft of office and retail there is thousands and thousands of approved housing just in our area with no decent commuter routes in place. There is way more commercial and retail approved here then all of Reston and Herndon combined.

Think of Reston they at least built two parallel roads to the toll road and still have a mess. Our proposed roads don't come close to what they have done and we have far more buildings and homes to be built.

Armageddon is about to arrive in our area:angryfire::angryfire: It is going to get far worse then anything you can imagine. I already lived it in Houston when they did get roads built it was an unbelievable nightmare and it is a shame it is going to happen here , especially since we started with a clean slate. I guess my flu bug is gone, and I am back:clap::clap:
