Home Repair Yes, AC Out Again!

    Well, today's temperature was a great time to test the AC. Downstairs - fine. Upstairs - out again! Looks like it's the capacitor - same as last year. I guess I should have bought 2!

    Anyway - test your AC as soon as you can.

    Have the same problem as you do. I noticed that the AC unit in the attic always is blowing very little cold air due to the fact that the AC is "iced over" internally. This is NEVER a problem with the downstairs AC unit. Sigh.

    Usually "iced over" is the result of a coolant leak and low coolant.

    Whew! I checked the AC unit today and found that a contact was sticking. I quick tap and all is good. I'm going to pay myself $150 for a service call though.
