Ironically we live in the SW TH's and this isn't a big problem. But I'd still rather look at a Toter than pick up other people's trash! Some of it still has old moldy food, etc... on it. Yuck!

Ditto. On the other hand, if Patriot charges the HOA more, and the HOA charges us all more, to provide "free" toters, keep the $25 and don't make me pay higher HOA fees. |

I live in a TH section, too. There are a handful of residents who do take their time putting the can away, out of sight, if they do at all (some people leave them in their driveway by the garage door).

Please contact Patriot directly to discuss the fees that were previously paid for recycling toters. 1-703-257-7100

The toters were a part of the new contract negotiated with Patriot. As I'm sure you noticed, HOA fees 2012 assessments remained at the same level as 2011.

Do we need to use these? This is another thing that won't fit in the garage so it will have to be outside.

So very THANKFUL to the HOA and Patriot for this new perk. Looking forward to the new recycling toter being dropped off. And added bonus is this will help keep recycling off the streets on windy days. Woo-hoo!!!

Yes, lidded toters will be a great addition as I have on numerous occassions picked up bags full of recycleables on windy days. However, I do also agree with KTdid in that those who do not put away their current smaller recycle bin will now only store their larger one in their driveway. Storing trash cans and recycle bins in driveways in plain sight seems to be a common practice in the SW townhouse section. It definitely detracts from the neighborhood.
