SAVE THE DATE
ANNUAL MEETING TO BE HELD AT MILL RUN ELEMENTARY ON MAY 8th Please keep an eye on your mailbox for the official notification of the Annual Meeting of Broadlands Association, Inc. This meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in the Gymnasium at Mill Run Elementary School, located at 42940 Ridgeway Drive. The doors open at 6:30 PM for the purpose of registering a quorum. The agenda begins at 7:00 PM. As part of the meeting, an election will be held to select three (3) members to three-year terms ending in May 2015. It is not too late to run for a position. Complete and return the Nominating Petition/Candidate Profile Sheet found on page 13 of the April newsletter to the HOA office no later than April 20, 2012 to be included in the Annual Meeting mailing. To take advantage of having your profile sheet included in the May newsletter please submit it by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Whether or not you are able to attend, you are strongly encouraged to complete the Proxy Form which you will receive in the mail so that a quorum may be obtained. Proxy forms are also available at the HOA office. You can change your proxy at any time before the meeting, or you can rescind it and vote at the meeting. You should sign your Proxy as directed, naming another owner, or, in the case of a non-resident Owner, the Lessee of such Owner’s home, or the General Manager (instructed proxies only). If you do not have a person in mind to designate as your proxy, you may assign it to the Secretary of the Broadlands Board of Directors. This will allow a quorum to be established so the meeting can run on time. A return envelope will be enclosed for your convenience, and it is essential that we receive your proxy vote no later than 5:00 PM on May 8, 2012. We thank you for your assistance and cooperation. We look forward to seeing you at the Annual Meeting! |

So here's a lesson for anyone who decided to volunteer to run for the BHOA. Don't piss off Van Metre. In 14 years they have never used their 3,000 votes, until tonight.
Vote Count: Erika Cotti 187 Dawn Holtz 181 Stevens Miller >100 But Van Metre used their 3,000 votes so to ensure I would not serve on the Broadlands HOA, even though the Community voted that that they wanted me to serve. |

And how many votes did Gerry have?
How is it that Van Metre still has 3,000 votes? Do they still maintain one vote per home even after that home has been sold? Thank you for volunteering to serve. |

What is also a shame is that only ~300 households voted in a community the size of Broadlands.
