Default Operation Monkey Wrench (Fairfax)

"Data shows thieves tend to break into cars Monday through Friday. Work vans, which usually have tools stowed inside, are a prime target."

"Beyond the obvious, such as locking one's doors and rolling the windows up all the way, vehicle owners should park under street lights, if possible. They should remember not to leave any kind of money, even loose change, in the consoles. Neighbors can also work together to be active in their communities and help keep an eye on the things going on in the neighborhood."

And of course, if you have a garage, when you are at home, use it for your cars

It's always amazed me that people who have garages park in their driveways. Our cars are always in our garage. A little organization can make a huge difference.

If there are so many people that are parking in the driveway and its just a lack of organization then you've just found a great side business!!

In my case, I leave for work three hours earlier than anyone gets up in the morning, so opening the garage door shakes two out of the four bedrooms. Its not a big deal to me and it allows my spouse and kids to sleep a little longer........

Quite a few in our neighborhood and 75% have 3 car garages. I see junk piled in the garages when the doors are open. There's plenty of storage in the garage and basements if people would just think about it. We never have to scrape ice or snow off the cars or get into a steaming hot or freezing cold vehicle. Our bedroom is over the garage area and while I can hear it, it doesn't shake the bedrooms or our bathroom. That's a function of the opener and can be how it's installed.
