Default Looking for lawn help......

I currently have Scott's lawn service with our lawn - 7 treatments over the year, and the cost is : $413. I'm not happy with the results to be honest, for the money.... does anybody have a recommendation for a person, or small business that does lawn care that is reasonable, and really good? All I am looking for is to make the grass as green as possible, and get rid of some of the weeds... I seem to have some spots in the lawn of variable colored green grass, and I'm looking for the plush dark green grass in uniformity..... thanks!

www.ultraturfinc.com

I've been using them for a couple of years now. I also get seven treatments per year and pay $55 for each ($385 total). I don't have an irrigation system and my lawn still looks like a hunter green carpet after looking like crap for a few years while I treated it myself with Scotts.

Jerry - how much do you have to water your lawn, if at all, with the treatments?

I only water when it rains

The summary of service and instructions for mowing/watering that UltraTurf leaves on my door will tell me if/when I should water and how/when to mow.

I'm pretty bad about watering in the treatments, but I usually follow the instructions for mowing (mowing height and if I should bag my clippings).

We just researched that for ourselves and got estimates from ProLawn, Scotts, Lawn Design, and Rock Water Farm. ProLawn did the most thorough analysis of the lawn and provided us with a hard copy of the analysis. Lawn Design is also a local company and seemed thorough. Scotts we kind of ruled out because they didn't offer much other than just fertilization for us - The others seemed more like a full service operation and put forth some effort in the estimate. Ultimately we went with Rock Water Farm for a balance of service and price. So far the only thing Rock Water Farm has done for us is to mow and edge but next week they will come do a yard cleanup and then begin the fertilization and weed control processes.

We use Natural Lawn and have been very happy. We pay $55 per service and I think there are 7 per year also. Our landscaper was impressed by the quality of the grass when he came by this spring for clean-up/mulching work.

Try NuLeaf...they're organic. They provide fertilizer, tick and weed control applications. So far I'm impressed!

TwoHokies, how big is your lawn? I have 1/2 acre and if it's still $55, I would definitely consider this.
