I seem to remember something in the Post around 2005 talking about how most of the new DDs will not be baking on premises, but will be trucking in from a central bakery. I don't believe anything was said about how many deliveries a day there would be. The ideal, I guess, would be every 8 hours (or whatever it is) to duplicate what normally would happen at a DD.

Not sure about how the donuts are appearing there....but the DD/Baskin Robbins over in Sterling on 7 has plenty of space to sit down, and it has a drive thru---so i would hope this one is set up the same way.

We had some issues with Soil and Finally all the issues are resolved and the building should be up according my contractor by Middle of April. AS per Dunkin Deliveries All dunkin will have 2 deliveries ...one in the morning around 4AM and another one would around Noon. Donuts once made are good fro 22 hours from the time the dough is prepared.

Any news if the other two food pads inside have been leased?

I had heard some DD guys talking (of all places, at Panera Bread) about outsourcing the donut making. It is more expensive to do, but apparently the cost of real estate is so high here that they prefer to do the donut making off premises..and ship the donuts in.

They said the real question is quality assurance-if they receive a batch at 4am that isn't good, then they are stuck with them during the morning.

My wife just wants the coffee anyway!

I've been waiting for this DD to open for years (it seems) - and now that we are moving to Leesburg, it sounds like it is actually going to open! So sad....

There is an existing Dunkin Donuts in Leesburg. You won't have to wait for the deliciousness!

I know....but this one is nice and new! It will be nice to have one close by, anyway, for those Saturday morning donut runs .

I think I'd prefer being near the Leesburg one. The Leesburg store actually makes the donuts rather than having them shipped in. I am not sure if Broadlands will be anything like the Sterling store, but if you go just after the peak they are often out of many flavors. Twice I went to get a glazed donut between breakfast and lunch and was told they would not have any more until the next morning shipment. Lame.
