By just doing a search on FIOS in the titles, I came up with these threads:

http://www.broadlandshoa.org/hoaforu...ead.php?t=2712
http://www.broadlandshoa.org/hoaforu...ead.php?t=2558
http://www.broadlandshoa.org/hoaforu...ead.php?t=1005
http://www.broadlandshoa.org/hoaforu...ead.php?t=3639

FWIW ... they all basically say ... don't hold your breath.

I can think of two words of what the Openband piece of...monopoly that Openband pays Van Metre Profits from 8% & 12 % (depending upon the service) respectively or my all time favorite.. piece of s$^t or c*!p.

All of these internet providers are a monopoly. pick your hell is really what it comes down to. Just look at the adelphia to comcast switch as an example lol. Boy you wanna talk about a monopoly taking their customers for a ride. Comcast sure is.

One additional thing ... once you chose Fios ... What happens if you do not like the service for any reason ? ( can you simply switch back ? ) I doubt it since they are investing lots of money getiing Fios to your house ... ( they might have some sort of contract language ... sort of like wireless companies .. early termination fee / charge )

I wasn't going to say anything since I don't know much about FIOS, but tonight for the second time in about a week we got a call from Verizon offering FIOS at our house. We're in Ashburn Village so maybe Broadlands won't be too far off.

I don't know anything about the FIOS service, setup, or contract agreement but may look into it since Comcast's prices went up starting this month!
