Stone House Update

The Stone House is slated for roof replacement, front porch replacement, and exterior wall stabilization in 2014. The repair work has been solicited by the Stone House Committee, approved by the Board of Directors, and will be performed by Cochran Stone Masonry & Timberframing.

Cochran is on site starting on the reconstruction of the front porch.  The deconstruction includes removing of the large shrubs in front of the building as well as the concrete flooring, roofing, footers, and columns. Once final plans are approved by the county and weather conditions permit, Cochran will begin the building process for a new front porch.

After the porch is completed, the limestone mortar injections will be done.  This work cannot be done until the threat of freeze has subsided or the mortar can be protected from freezing.  The building will receive a new metal roof, as well as trim soffits, rake and fascia boards.  The upper walls and chimneys currently being stabilized by two interior gables will be reconstructed where they are currently failing, which is on the top floor.

BOD MEETINGS

Typically, the Board of Directors Monthly Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm. If you would like to request an item be added to the agenda or provide written comments for inclusion in the board meeting materials, please submit comments to Sarah@Broadlandshoa.comThe deadline for written comments is Tuesday 5:00pm the week prior to the meeting.  Residents are welcome to observe the public portion of meetings and may address the Board during the ‘Member Forum’ section of the meeting, typically held at the start of the meeting.  Meetings are currently being held virtually via the Zoom link below. If in person, meetings are held at the Broadlands Clubhouse (upstairs) located at 43360 Rickenbacker Square, at the intersection of Waxpool Road and Pagoda Terrace.

THE BOARD

The Board of Directors is comprised of nine homeowner volunteers who are elected annually by the membership. Residents are welcome to contact Board members directly, but please note that many inquiries may be best addressed by HOA staff hired by the board to run the day to day operations of the association.
