The fitness Center is currently closed due to a weather related outage. We are waiting for replacement equipment and expect to reopen Thursday, 9/6/18.
The County of Loudoun is responsible for the four inlet pipes that take stormwater into Bullfrog pond. Representatives of the county’s Department of General Services, Public Works Division oversee the stormwater management program. Residents surrounding the pond were previously notified that they would be surveying the pond inlets in order to delineate the tree preserve and protected wetlands areas, marked these areas with stakes, and contracted with The Care of Trees to remove trees that were obstructing the inlets. The county has now contracted with Madigan Construction to remove sediment build up and refurbish rip rap on each of these inlets. This work will allow the inlets to work as they were designed by slowing down the flow of water from stormwater runoff into the pond.
The equipment may cause damage to the trail and/or the turf. We will address any necessary trail repairs this fall and the county will restore any damaged turf.
If you have questions regarding this information, please contact Karl E. Evans, Senior Stormwater Engineer at 703-771-5358 or Karl.Evans@loudoun.gov.

On Monday, May 14, 2018, Patriot Disposal will begin servicing the single-family units in Broadlands with Automated Side Loader Trucks. What does this mean to you? Typical trucks have one or two laborers travel on the back of the truck picking up trash from the street by hand and emptying it into the back of the truck for compacting. An automated side loader has an electronic arm that extends from the passenger’s side of the truck to grab and lift the trash can and dump its contents into the top of the truck for compacting. This will require some minor adjustments in the way trash is placed curbside as well as parking near the curbside bins. Broadlands Association, Inc. is only responsible to maintain HOA owned streets, not VDOT streets. Please click on the following link to see who is responsible for the snow removal and maintenance of your street so you know who to contact with any questions or issues:
The Association would like to thank everyone who has reported fallen trees/limbs and signs in the common areas since the onset of the storm. The Association has assessed each individual situation and the staff and contractors are dealing with these issues in order of priority, where the most dangerous/severe situations are taken care of first.
On properties where there is damage to a home or other structure from a common area tree, the Association is asking those property owners to contact their homeowners insurance provider and/or their own tree service to remove the tree from the home or structure. The Association will not remove trees that have fallen onto your home, deck, shed, etc. Virginia state law considers these incidents “acts of god”, and the tree or fallen debris becomes the property of the person whose property it fell onto, at the property line. The Association will do its best to remove common area trees from fences with permission from the property owner.
We appreciate your continued patience as the staff and contractors work to resolve all of the storm issues in the community!
