The Southern Walk Pool will reopen on time today, Tuesday, July 4th.
Due to equipment malfunction, the Southern Walk pool is currently closed. We are working diligently to reopen as quickly as possible, but locating the needed parts over the holiday weekend is difficult. Summerbrooke and Community Center pools remain open as scheduled.

Courtyard Homes, Park Glen Villas and the common areas near townhomes, Broadlands Blvd and Broadlands Station will be completed the week of April 11th. All other common areas along the main roads will be mowed the week of April 17th. Turf Applications will begin in the common areas along the roadways and townhomes the week of April 11th as well.
One of the largest social movements in our region of the world is the Buy Fresh Buy Local revolution. Supporting neighboring farmers is something many of us want to do, and just aren’t sure how.
• Come and meet the people who grow the food, ask them about their practices, set up a time to visit them on their farms, and find the right farm for your family’s needs
• Bring the kids to meet the many farm animals. We will have cheeps (tiny chicks), goats, lambs, and maybe even a calf!
•The Nature Center will be a drop-off site for all of these farms.
If you choose to become a weekly shareholder in a CSA it will be
delivered to your door. . . to the Nature Center.
•$4 suggested donation all going to the
farmers who are coming out at a busy time in their planting
season to meet our community and share their wisdom.

In preparation for the upcoming winter weather event, Broadlands Association and our snow plow contractor, Signature Snow and Ice Control, have made as many advanced preparations as possible in order to keep the association owned roads cleared for emergency response vehicles. Please take a moment to determine whether you live on a VDOT street or a private (HOA owned) street. See Snow Removal and Maintenance 2016-2017 if you are unsure. Those residents living on private streets pay an additional assessments to the HOA to fund private road maintenance, including snow and ice services. Residents on VDOT streets do not pay the HOA for their road maintenance; these roads are paid for by your personal property taxes. The chief objective of snow plowing is to clear one drive lane in order for emergency responders to get to you in the event of a fire or other life threatening emergency. We ask that you stay home and off the roads for your safety and the safety of others. If you get on the road under less than optimal driving conditions, you may endanger the lives of snow plow operators, emergency responders who would help you if you got hurt, and doctors/nurses/etc. trying to get to their essential, life-saving jobs. Vehicles driving on snow compact it down, making it more difficult for the plow blade to clear the surface to the pavement. Please heed the warnings of the government and media and stay off the road unless you absolutely must be out in it.
Once again this season, the HOA has provided our contractors with a dedicated phone to handle snow emergency comments from our residents living on HOA owned streets. If you have an immediate concern regarding an HOA owned street or sidewalk, you may contact dispatch at 202-617-6484. This phone will be monitored throughout the storm, but please leave a message if you do not reach dispatch immediately. They may be handling other calls or plowing at the moment. On Friday, March 3, 2017, the HOA Office and Nature Center will have limited hours from 9:00am – 12:00pm for Employee Appreciation Day.
Concrete Jack will be performing repair work on HOA owned sidewalks to raise and support or grind down concrete as appropriate, to reduce trip hazards. They are scheduled to be on site from Monday, February 20th-Thursday, February 23rd. We do not anticipate any significant interruptions in sidewalk access. These repairs are both environmentally friendly (uses existing concrete rather than removing, discarding of, and repouring old concrete) and cost efficient.
