Ladies: anyone have a recommendation for a local salon or individual who does full makeup applications for a non-outrageous fee? This would NOT be a bridal makeup session.

Actually, yes. Go to a Clinique counter at the mall, have them do your make-up and purchase at least one item they used.

Allan from Radiance does a wonderful job applying make up. I don not know his fee but their number is 703-723-4600.

I have a feeling Radiance would probably be expensive. Has anyone been to the make up place across from Wegmans? Can't remember the name. Just wondering.

i like the mac counter at the mall. you can make an appointement, it's free, and like Liz said just buy something like a lipgloss or whatever you like. if i have time i go by there before rock shows and get totally glammed out.

 ask for Ramond...great artist, twice a year he does a full makeover for me and keeps the colors on my profile/chart. FWIW - I would rather go to a man than a woman. Women (at MAC) have always applied too much makeup and have been a bit b&$tchy.

Mac requires that you spend $50 for the appointment to be free.

I called to make an appointment for next week, and I was told there was NO minimum purchase required. I'll call back to confirm that.

Really? Was this the location in Fair Oaks? They must have changed their policy. Last time I went was around March of 07 for a formal event I had. The other posters are correct though, they do cake it on.

In Fair Oaks Mall (and Im sure others) they have a MAC store, which sells makeup and of course does applications. Its a fun thing to do with a girlfriend or if you have an event that night that you want to look nice for!

My appointment is at the Dulles Town Center Nordstrom. I called to change the appointment time yesterday, but forgot to confirm the minimum-purchase thing! Will do it today, I promise :)

It really was no-minimum-purchase, and Sierra (sp?) did a fantastic job!
