Lost Cat

We are still looking for Sunflower. We have been all over Ashburn Run, Ashburn Knolls, Carisbrooke, and Overland Park. If you see him over by Windover again, please let us know ASAP (or any where else).

a question- is Sunflower the type of cat that would go to someone friendly? he is so gorgeous- someone may have taken him in by now, what do you think?

(also just trying to keep this thread alive until he is safely back home!)

Sunflower is usually motivated by food, so if a friendly person has some food he might go them. He is usally pretty shy and runs from loud noise. The latest black cat sightings I'm tracking down are in the Bloom/Golden Pond parking lot (seems a little far from home) and in the neighborhood next to the Broadlands community church. I'm trying to replace the washed out signs, but it seems like the rain just keeps coming. Thank you for your concern and for looking out for him!

 

My daughter goes to Golden Pond so I'm there every day. I'll definitely pay more attention to the woodsy areas around there (plus I know Bloom offloads a lot of stuff in the Dumpster right by GPS; maybe Sunflower is looking for food?) and report any sighting whatsoever.
Hoping too for a safe and speedy return.

 

The Golden Pond sightings are not Sunflower . It looks like there is another black cat in that area. We've had a couple of false alarms lately (black cat - but not Sunny). Our latest areas of interest are back in Ashburn Run, up by Truro Parish and Glebe View (two sightings), and back in Southern Walk off of Windover and Village. If you live in this area, or walk the paths, and see a black cat, please call 703-724-9434. We've had three sighting in SW in the past two days.

I posted new laminated/florescent signs (thanks for the tip!) all through out Broadlands and surrounding areas this weekend. All the signs just in Broadlands were pulled down today. These signs are vital in my search and are the only proven way to get the word and picture out. I'm so heart broken! These signs were not cheap! I wish there was some way to let the landscapers know NOT TO TAKE DOWN LOST PET SIGNS!

I can't believe people can be so inconsiderate and take those signs down. I'm sorry you have to go through this!

 

Is there some way the word can be spread around to those residents who do NOT haunt these forums?

After all this time, I can only hope that some non-forum reading family has found sunflower and has "adopted" him.

One would hope that the signs would be enough but you can never be sure.

Does Sunflower come when called? I'll walk the paths around Windover and see if I can spot him again.

 

He will come to you if you say "Sunflower" or "Kittie Kittie" in your highest pitched voice. I can't quite reach the octave that my wife can do. He will also come to you if you have a nicely grilled pork chop in your hand .

 

It looks like we also have a sighting in the neighborhood across from the Broadlands Community Church - down Hemmingway (near the house the burnt down over the weekend).

 

I'll keep an eye peeled, I'm over off of Larchmont, and we are close to the trail.

Another sighting of a black cat in Ashburn Farm on Arrowhead Drive.

If you see a black cat, try to get a look at its tail and fur. Sunflower has medium to long hair and lots of fur on his tail.

 

Latest sightings -

Arrowhead Drive (Off of Golden Meadow) in the Farm - three sighting. Latest one was last evening around 6pm.

Ashburn Run (Neighborhood next to St. Teresa's).

 

Cat Update:

We are still looking for Sunflower. We think we can rule out the black cat that hangs out near the tennis courts off of Hemmingway and another black cat in SW off of Village. Here are the latest active sighting areas:

Ashburn Run (Next to St. Teresa's)
Ashburn Farm - Golden Meadow Cir area
Near Verizon Building off of Waxpool.
Southern Walk off Ridgeway.

It has now been a long month since Sunflower left home, but we will not give up hope.

 

I saw a black cat this AM crossing Ridgeway toward the nature center (just before the corner). Not sure if it was Sunflower but hope you find Sunflower soon.

 

There is an all Black cat in my back yard right now. It is 7:00pm. Highview Trail in Southern Walk. Looks like she has been outside for a while.

 

If it is wearing a purple collar, it's mine.
