Anybody know where to look for the doorbell transformer? Our doorbell is not working. A multimeter shows nothing at either the outside button or the chimer, but I don't know where the transformer is. I'm guessing behind some drywall somewhere? We're in a Van Metre Mosby townhouse.

Home depot. They have models for 1 ringer and 2 ringers.

I would guess the transformer is in the basement near your utilities. Should be in the ceiling attached to a joist. At least that is where mine is.

    Good luck

Ok, finally got around to taking care of this.. the transformer is indeed in the utility room, in our case it was attached to the lightbulb for the utility room. It's relatively small, if you don't know what you're looking for you can miss it. I've attached a picture of ours. It's the metal box with a yellow band around it.

In our case it was some work in the utility room unrelated that caused this -- the wires were left touching and the transformer burned out. A new transformer and the doorbell is now working again.

Thanks for posting this. I live in a Van Metre townhome and didn't see a transformer in my utility room. Never thought it would be hidden on the side of the light.
