Has anyone used Stanley Steemer or any other service to clean kitchen floor grout? If so, were you happy?

    Thanks!

we used a steamer ourselves to clean our kitchen grout when we moved in and it produced great results (color of the grout was actually different!) but it was quite time consuming. We used one of those small personal steam cleaners. So I would assume a professional service should give good results too.

You can have someone clean your grout? If you rent a steamer, what kind of steamer? Carpet steamer, with attachment? Or a smaller steamer just for grout? I am all over this, because last summer, I cleaned mine with bleach and a toothbrush! I have a carpet steamer and a Shark, but the Shark doesn't do much on the grout.

I called SS a few years ago and I believe the quote was $1 per sq foot. I started counting my tiles in just my powder room and foyer, and I was already over $100. My tile goes all the way through the kitchen as well, so it was too costly for me! Yay for dark colored grout!!!!

I did go ahead and clean my grout that day with oxiclean. I let it sit for an hour then scrubbed it up into a big muddy mess. I had to mop up all of the muddy water then go over it like 3 times after that to get up any residual dirt- but it was sooooo worth it because it looks awesome now!! Better than when we bought the house!

We also live in a single family home and paid $116 for the cleaning and prices vary for the sealer. The sealer we chose was $297 and should last 5 - 7 years. They offered a 1 -2 year sealer for $50. It took 2 guys 4 hours to apply the sealer to the grout and hand wipe it from the tile. It looks awesome and worth the money for me to not spend the time doing it.
