Has anyone ordered a special ice cream cake/pie from our Broadlands store? After reading so much negative comments about Dunkin Donuts regarding this store, I hesitate ordering a cake or pie from them. Anybody have any input? My hubby loves their ice cream cakes and pies, so was going to order one, but don't want to be disappointed. Any comments, good or bad, are greatly appreciated!

I've never had a cake from there, but I tried to get one. :)

I wanted a cake for an office party. I called on Monday, a young man answered and put me on hold for 10 minutes and then I got hung up on. I called back and no one answered the phone. I called on Tuesday, a young man answered and said "the cake person isn't here and could I call back later", so I did.....and got hung up on a second time.

So I called the Leesburg store and bought it from there....on the first try.

Everytime I go to the store in Broadlands for ice cream/doughnuts/whatever...it's never a good experience. I'll keep my BR business in Leesburg.

Just go over there instead of calling. I got a cake there a couple months ago with no problems. Walked in, filled out the order form, chatted briefly with the salesperson and that was that. Cake was there on time when I picked it up. Color was wrong (was supposed to be pink icing border) but beyond that everything else was fine.

I ordered a cake there once it was supposed to be a 1/2 sheet cake, and serve 15 people, and was going to be $30.00. When I picked it up, it was the size of a shoe box, would maybe serve 6 people... needless to say I did not purchase it, and was forced to frantically run to a grocery store hours before the birthday party!

Ok...so I thought I'd give a neighborhood business one more try, WHAT A MISTAKE!!!

On Thursday, I ordered a cake from our friendly Broadlands Baskin Robbins. I asked for a 9" round with white cake and cookie dough ice cream. I needed to have it by 5pm on Sunday for an office party Monday morning. Everything went fine on the phone. The order taker read me back everything and we were good to go.

On Sunday, I stopped by at 5:15pm to pick up the cake. I'm told by one of the employees that it is not here it is at the Sterling store. (Apparently, they don't make ANY cakes at the Broadlands store...all cakes are made at the Sterling store) I asked the employee when it would be here (Broadlands) and said he couldn't have it hear on Sunday. So I asked if he could have it to the store by 9am on Monday, in which he said ok.

On Monday morning, I called the store at 8:45am and was told the cake was still not there, but it should be by 9am. At 9:00am I show up at the store and guess what....NO CAKE!!!!! They call the person bringing the cake and now it will be another 10 minutes for him to arrive. The cake finally arrives and the employee at the store offers me a discount, which I take, and I pay for the cake and leave.

Later in the morning, we have our office party and cut the cake (remember white cake, cookie dough ice cream) AND IT's THE WRONG CAKE!!!! Chocolate cake and chocolate chip ice cream.

I have given this store ample opportunities to provide better service, but it seems the place is run by a bunch of people who know nothing of customer server or take pride in their work.

I WILL NEVER GO THERE FOR ANYTHING AGAIN!!!! And I will tell this tale on every message board, blog and Internet site that will let me write.

I hope the Broadlands Dunkin Doughnuts and Baskin Robbins drops into a fiery pit and they are never allowed to return.

I was running by there this morning and saw one car in the parking lot. I was wondering if it was closed? This was 10:00am or so.

I wish i could say that i can't believe it, but sadly i believe every bit. i understand it can be tough to run a place, but this location is a dismal example of everything that can be wrong with an eatery. i wnet from going 2-3 times a week to maybe once a month when The Boy is craving a donut. that said- there are several employees that i've dealt with there that have always been great and gotten it right each time- friendly, accurate and effeicient.

Maybe they should get an Undercover Boss episode out here! lol

**for the record the regular visits were mainly for coffee- i wasn't mainlining donuts- i swear! lol**

What Ice Cream? Every time we've gone the bins have been nearly empty and when we asked they said they didn't have anymore in the freezer.

This place has turned into a lost cause; the service stinks, never have inventory, one type of machine is always broken (coolatte etc) and the last time we ate there we all ended up sick.

8+ months of boy-cotting this place and haven't missed it, BIG FAILURE of a business.

I agree, this is a shame - it took so long to get this place, and now we have this. I don't even bother with the donuts or other items anymore - generally stick with the coffee, and at least 30% of the time, they get my order wrong (medium black coffee - for some reason, they frequently give me coffee with cream/sugar). The muffins aren't fresh, the place has just been so poorly managed. My hope is that Dunkin Donusts corporate eventually steps in and fixes this place.

Agree with most negative comments on the board. Their soft serve machine is always broken.

I was in here last week buying some donuts for me and the kids. They had a nice selection of donuts and all but 2 of the ice cream bins were full. I'd give them another try if you haven't been in there lately.
