Anyone locally ever use Screen Goo instead of buying a screen? Mine is currently just the builders grade paint right now but thinking of going with the Screen Goo. Just wondering if anyone has used this stuff and does it make that much of a difference?

I've heard about it on AVS a while ago, and it seemed really expensive.. seems like it still is. I'd like to see it side-by-side with some of these other custom mixes you can do yourself that you see on AVS... I need to paint a screen soon, or use some sort of other material

I ordered the sampler pack - there were four squares. each a different color. I put them up over my current "screen" which is Baer Ultra White flat surrounded by a black border. The Goo stuff did NOT cut it. We were watching a Redskin game in HD and the plain white background was MUCH brighter. Don't waste your money - just get the Baer. If you'd like ot have an in-person look, PM me.

I have got and used the screen goo for my 124'' screen in my basement.

The past three years I have received many complements for it. I really like the stuff. I do recommend making a black velvet trim around the screen once it is done though as it does make the picture look better.

I went with the Sony VPL-HS60 projector as it was one of the best back in that time.

Nowadays there are much better projectors for much cheaper ie the Panasonic.

Screen goo seems to have changed its naming system as mine was a dark grey but it really depends on the amount of light going in the room to decide which goo you need.

    Good luck,

    Shyam
