Advice on a local auto shop that won't try to run up a big bill? Thinking might be better off in Sterling or Leesburg.

Do not use the Goodyear in Ashburn Farm or on Waxpool. I have gotten inspections at both places and they use the event as revenue generating opportunities.

With that said, any suggestions on a good place to get four tires mounted and get a front end alignment?

P.S. Just noticed a new Sears Automotive Center on Rt 7 in Sterling. Next to the Chevy place. Sure hope it's better than the Sears Automotive Center at the Dulles Towncenter Mall.

Based on a recommendation on this board, we just used Fallon Automotive for some repairs and liked it. The shop is off Old Ox near Moran Rd.

I've read negative reports about the Goodyear places in Ashburn but when I had inspections done at the Waxpool one I never had any issues with them recommending any other services. That's just my experience. But you'll notice from my other post that when our car needed service I didn't go there!

Yeah, for cheap tires I hear Walmart and Costco are the best.

We go to Ashburn Service Center in the Ashburn Village Giant parking lot. We've been going there for years. Very honest business.

I already purchased the tires over the internet. Looking for install, balance and front end alignment.

BTW, Tirerack beat the Costco price by $80. Including the shipping. As long as I can get 4 tires mounted and balanced for under $80 I saved money.

Goodyear in Ashburn Farm gave me significantly higher quote on tires vs. the same tires at Costco.

I also haven't had an issue with add-ons from the Ice Rink Plaza store. I just tell them I get my car serviced elsewhere and I am happy with that service.

Mike Fallon is the best. Repairs, maintenance, and yes, tires. Reasonable, knowledgeable, and dependable.

Always had a good experience for minor-medium issues with the Shell station on 28.

Scheduled an appointment with Fallon for tomorrow morning. Thanks for the reminder, VACliff has been speaking highly of that place for years.

I would add that at Costco, during the life of the tires that you buy there, you can get free rotation/alignment/balancing, fill up on air (or nitrogen as is the case these days), and get your tires patched when they get a small repairable hole in them as many times as necessary or desired. If you do not care about any of the above, then saving the money is a win situation!

Stay away from Goodyear they are thieves, I had brought in my SUV for an inspection and they said everything looked good but there is a slight looseness in my front bearings and it cant pass. I took it somewhere else and told them what Goodyear said and they laughed. They said they hear it about Goodyear all the time, they passed my SUV and I was on my way minus the $500 charge from Goodyear. Pass the word around they are terrible, also I purchased tires from Sears who happen to match Tirerack and DisountTires.com. Goodyear also wanted over $100 more per tire plus installation for the same tires.

Had an inspection done today at Fallon. Made the appointment yesterday. In and out in 20 minutes. They found a burnt out license plate bulb, charged a whopping $3 to put in a new one.
