Today around 3:00 on Autumnwood Square. Suspicious man walked around Autumnwood Square looking at every house. He headed over and started walking down Hunters Green. I walked over to watch him, someone in a car stopped him and was talking to him.

Not sure if he lived in the area, but I've never seen him around. Was strange that he looked at every house. Anyhow, he was black, wearing old brown pants, white long sleeve shirt and a white cap.

This is pretty scary. Wish we knew what the person in the car found out.

The other day a meter reader was walking around and I didn't see his shirt until AFTER I let my dog scare the pee out of him! He had his vehicle parked down the street.

Plus, we have a no solicitation rule don't we? Why then do we get about 20 flyers per week crammed in the doors?

I agree about the "no solicitation".... Im getting SICK of picking up those flyers that blow away afterwards into my yard.. Im wondering what can be done to STOP folks from jamming paper in the door jambs.

We do not have a "no solicitation" rule - no one does...Unless you are in a gated community you cannot stop these folks from leaving flyers at your property. Perhaps you might call the company who is advertising and tell them you will not support their business if they continue to advertise in this manner.

I did see a young man on Saturday who was distributing flyers on Frame Square. He appeared to be mentally challenged and there was another gentleman who seemed to be keeping an eye on him, also distributing flyers....

Interesting....I say this because I used to live in a community that had a NO SOLICITATION sign at the front entrance (wasn't gated)....Cops have come and issued tresspassing notices to those people. The neighborhood got tired of all the papers flying around and people trying to solicit business on our private time. You would think they could use newspapers or mail inserts to help their businesses.

I've often wondered about the cost of calling out the folks distributing the flyers. Are they being paid? Is this their only employment? So I just collect the flyers and after a quick glance, add them to the recycle bin :shakehead: Everyone has to eat...

I agree everyone has a right to work. Here's what I am uneasy about, it's uninvited strangers coming to my door, on my property, possibly peering through windows, checking out whatever they see. Not all these guys are bad guiys, maybe none. But the truth is they could be robbers, child molesters, package thieves, we have no way of knowing and this breeds temptation.

And what happens to liability if they trip and fall on my property? The flyers are annoying but like you, we just recycle them. It's the potential bad stuff I don't like. We have enough of that in the world without acquiescing/allowing them on our property.

I hope everyone that wants a job can get a job and does well. But I don't like non-neighbors all over my 'hood, that's all.
