Just stand in front of a parked car.. wear sun glasses and point a hair dryer down the street.. and watch the fun. Then when they drive by and see it's not a police and wave and say 'it could have been for real... slow down'

Yeah and then the cops will be checking that person out for "pointing" an unknown "weapon" that some people MAY think its a gun. I wouldn't even THINK of anyone trying that for fear of being investigated by the cops and they may even think that the individual has some mental issues if they find out that the person was using a "hairdryer" with the cord dangling pointing at drivers on the road.

NosirreeBob, I won't be THAT person :screwy:. Too many people on the road would be interpreting that hairdryer as if it was a loaded gun. Times are different nowadays. I'd rather that a real cop be the one monitoring the traffic and I have seen them sitting at the corner of Claiborne and Ridgeway ready to trap stop sign runners.

Anyone who calls the cops over that needs their head checked.

Oh wait.. I just remembered the other things people want to get the cops out here for as well in this thread. Doesn't surprise me.

How on earth do you all think people survive in areas where the nearest police are like 45mins away?

    This society is doomed.

:angryfire::angryfire::angryfire: A landscaping truck this morning blew right through the stop sign at Stone Hollow and Ridgeway...he never did stop at the sign until at the last minute when this freaking BLEEP BLEEP guy realized that he shouldn't have ignored the stop sign nearly T-Boning me.

I proceeded to give him a piece of my mind about how stupid he was until I realized he probably doesn't understand a damn word of English at all. He was yik yakking all over the cell phone at the same time.

I called the owner of the landscaping company and told him that his idiotic employee nearly T-Boned me while running through the stop sign. I told him that he was VERY lucky that his driver didn't T-Bone me because then he's have more problems on his hands than he wished for. He mumbled something about firing the driver for putting his business at risk. Yeah right...he SHOULD!!! Bleeping driver should know better than to blow right through a stop sign putting people at risk.

    ARGH....

I had a funny encounter this morning along similar lines. Went to a local business this morning, then dropped my son off at preschool. On the way to work from there, I was very aggressively tail-gaited by a lady behind the wheel of an SUV.. I was doing slightly over the speed limit and she materialized out of absolutely nowhere. I braked a bit and motioned for her to get off my :censored:, and she ended up blowing by and had to hit at least 70 (on Ashburn Village). Funny thing was that the name of her business was tattooed all over the side of her ride, and it happened to be the same business I was at that morning. So I called them up…

“Hi, can I speak with the owner or manager please?”

    “Speaking..”

“I was in this morning, and just wanted to FYI that whoever is driving your truck is being unreasonably aggressive on AVB – I was rolling at 45 and she blew by me like I was standing still, after riding my bumper for a ways.”

“Oh, OK, I’ll let her know, that’s my wife.”

“errr, OK. Wasn’t trying to cause any trouble, but she was really on it…”

“Don’t worry, I’ll have a talk with her, thanks for your call.”

Wonder how that conversation went, and whether it will lead to any change.

Then I started pondering whether or not local business owners truly understand forums like this that aren’t ‘public’ mediums per se, could, very ‘quietly’, go a long way in how your business performs. I’m also wondering if the change in management at Dunkin Donuts was, in part, affected by the discussions in that thread.

Now, how to get people just to slow the :censored: down and chill out a bit. I try to open the roof and windows and let Jimmy Buffet put folks in that casual kinda mood, but don’t feel like that is working out too well. Hmm, maybe some Stevie Ray :guitar:..

    Happy Friday All...

Relevant: I actually do stand out on front of my house with an actual radar gun clocking people coming down Vestals Gap. Tonight a guy comes to a halt as he's going 10 over, backs up and says "What do you think you're doing". I explain that I'm clocking people's speed. He asks if the police know what I'm up to. He thought I was pointing a gun at him. I say "Yep, I email them license plates". He responds that a cop lives on his street and he'll be having a talk to him about it. I think someone's butthurt they got caught in the wrong... Someone doth protest too much.

I would also love it if everyone would use a turn signal at the 4-way so I am not guessing which way you are going. It is really helpful when I know you are turning left and not thinking you are going straight because you have no signal on.

Heck, I would be thrilled if people stopped at the 4-way.

Andy...I agree with you totally here. I am seeing WAY TOO MANY people who don't even STOP at these stop signs and they often roll slowly while you are crossing the road...I hate that because you never know if they will stop in time before they T-Bone you.

The other day I saw way too many people yik yakking on their cell phones not even using their blinkers to make a lane change or make a right turn (they just go right through never stopping)... There was a young guy driving a sports car that blew by me doing about 85 on the Claiborne Parkway and he blew something like two to three stop signs...never stopping. One of these days, he's going to either T-Bone someone or get T-Boned himself.

I think this area is like the Wild West in terms of driving!

    Baby Diapers in the POOL

This is disgusting. They explode, wake up dumb parents. Even worse, after the explosion, the Dad left all the beads loaded with whatever, all over the pool deck for everybody to walk in. I think these people should have their pool rights revoked or be forced to spend the day fully cleaning the pool.

Day 2 and Summerbrooke pool was absolutely disgusting. This does not look good for the guards. Does anyone know if they hose down the deck and clean the pool each evening? If not, they should.

Really? 85 MPH on Claiborne? That's really hard to believe.
