    Need to vent,
I'm tired of going to the Wendys by Safeway & either getting my order wrong or getting an attitude from a snot nose punk. For the past couple of weeks we keep getting the same young man to take our order as he mumbles back & if you question him his answer is go to the next window! today I went to get their new salads & a burger & he mumbles the dollar amount which my bad i did not ask him to repeat. I give a $20 he gives me back $2, when asked how much are the salads he is ready with his usual reply next window you will receive a receipt at the end! go to the next window & i hear him *****ing how I refuse to pay, calling me names all in spanish! He did not realize that I don't look spanish but I am & went I yelled for him to stop making up stories & face me he would'nt show himself. Spoke to the manager who heard me yelling & I'm sorry to say I scared the crap of the only caucasian girl working there who did not expect my spanish remarks. and was actually working & being polite...she has good parent who taught her well!
I'm tired of our youth thinking that they can get away with this kind of behavior in the work place, if they worked for me they would be fired for their attitude & customer service...wait there is none now a days. I guess I expect better but I will not go to Wendys or any other restaurant where you are treated like crap!
    Thanks for letting me vent!:angryfire:

My wife had a similar experience there today. Teenage kid was rude to her also. Generally we do have a problem there.

I've only been through the drive thru late at night on Fridays... never had a problem or it was too late for me to care.

I wrote to the company. Website on receipt you are able to take a survey about your experience and let them know how good or bad. District Mgr should be able to address the problem & hopefully get them to improve on customer service.

These are the things I miss about where I grew up in Ohio and PA. Customer service seems to be a foreign concept to people around here.

Here is something that really gets me. Could you at least look me in the eye and say thank you when you are taking my money? Is that so hard to do?

Here is another one. Can you at least wipe off the side of the fountain Coke when you hand it to me? I cannot tell you how many times the drive-thru hands you the soda with soda running down the side of the cup.

Hate to have to pile on here, but I am right with you folks. I LOVE Wendy's - my favorite fast food! But I sure don't like THIS one.

Yes I like the young lady who has been taking care of orders but not the new teen boy. His manager was correcting him on Sunday when we went. So they are trying.

As a rule my orders are done correctly but I sure don't like the attitude. (When they first opened they NEVER got my order right, so progress is progress...)

Before the current young lady there was a young Hispanic woman who had to make ends meet by working at McDonalds (I always stood in HER line!) AND Wendys and she was fantastic, so there is SOME hope for customer service in the hearts of some dedicated employees. But only those who have it inside of them.

I hate to see this bad service happen. I've been going to Wendy's since 1969 when I went to the original Wendy's in Columbus OH - at the time it was the ONLY Wendy's across from the Center of Science and Industry for pity sake!

And yeah, I AM that old... :D

I think you hit it on the head Peddler. When you need the job, you have customer service. When you don't care about the job then you couldn't care if you lose it or not.

For those that need the job because they don't have mommie or daddy to pay their way regardless appreciate what it means to work for a living as opposed to those that work just to kill time till the next party.

Haven't run into the new rude dude but have run into the younger white manager (haven't seen him in a while though) and older hispanic gentleman and both are incredibly nice and customer focused.

Agreed that the guy called out in the original post should have been shown the door. If you can't respect your customers, get out!

Great story!! I wish I had the skill set, I always wonder if they are talking crap. I usually don't say anything unless it is horrible like this.

I worked at Wendy's in Leesburg in the early 90's during high school and the suggestion about contacting the district manager is perfect. That will get the managers attention faster than anything.

    Thanks

    Mike

If you want great customer service at a fast food joint, check out just about any Chick-Fil-A.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I haven't been back to that Wendy's since I tried their "new and improved" french fries. I thought they were horrible. Of course, now that I think about it, I did get them from this Wendy's, where I also have had issues with my order. I'm told the fries are selling like crazy from a manager I know in Southern Virginia. Either way, I won't be back to try them again.

Crispy fries with extra sea salt didn't do it for me.
