I am posting this to ask people to please not place their trash bags out on the curb without the bin. The crows pick apart the bags and then the trash spreads all over the street. In addition, on a windy day, the trash blows everywhere! It is very simple to just put out your trash bin or just place it in a neighbor's bin.
It is disgusting when my kids are outside and pick up other people's trash laying in the road and/or my dog is eating stuff off the ground before I can grab it.
I also don't understand why this can't be monitored a little better since I get letters immediately if my grass is too long or a light bulb is out.
Thank you and sorry for the rant!

Odds are when your grass is too long or your lamp post is out, it is a neighbor calling it into the HOA.

As for monitoring curbside trash, just how much more would you like us to pay a month? What hours should be monitored since we are "officially" allowed to put trash out anytime between 6:00 PM the night before until pickup. How many people should o this and how many times should they patrol each street? Just a few thoughts.

I am really just asking for people to be considerate and not leave trash bags out on the curb.

Isn't is against HOA regulations to put your trash at the curb in bags only? Isn't is required to use the trash bin?

Another thought, once trash is picked up, please don't store your trash bin in your driveway. It is unsightly.

No, use of a bin is not required. It is required however to stow the receptacle out of sight either in an approved trash enclosure or in the garage on non trash pickup days.

So have you nicely asked the homeowner of the offending trash? Have you nicely pointed out what the crows do and that the trash blows around?

That should be the first thing done. I have done it, and with great success.

Great info here, I keep my bin in the garage most of the time but admit there are times I leave it out....won't make that mistake again.

    Thanks

Sometimes the big bin gets full and people need to place bags beside it. It is very common, especially after family gatherings, parties, holidays, etc. I predict that someone will respond that larger families get two trash cans, but that really isn't practical for most of us. I never leave bags out the night before and try not to leave bags next to my can on windy days, but occasionally we leave them out. We rarely see any trash on the street, but if we do, we always pick it up. Seems to work just fine.

if we are quoting county code..

how about someone getting the county to follow-up on that home next to the quickie mart on waxpool that has what seems like 50+ glass bottles all smashed up in the driveway..

It's being knocked down and replaced by a day care center, but I hear you. It's deadly.

I finally got to see this driveway over the weekend. I'm seriously wondering if this was done on purpose by whoever used to live there to keep people away... That's a LOT of broken glass...

I saw it and was really surprised by the amount of broken glass there....Wonder if they are trying to purposely keep people away for nefarious reasons?

It's been that way for ages now. If they want to keep people off the drive, they could put up a chain or something. This is really a public nusence.

If you had a big hole in your yard.. and someone fell in... you'd be liable. This situation is not only an eyesore, it's a hazard.

But isn't this the place that's being knocked down to be replaced by a day care place. It wasn't in the local media few weeks back. It's not inhabited at the moment.
