More feedback please...was looking at swimming lesson prices and am at floored how expensive they are! There isn't a "community center" type option in this area like I had in Herndon. :/

We've been going to Herndon community center as non-residents for the last couple of years, so that is still an option. We are planning to try Swim U in Leesburg starting in January.

Did you look at Ida Lee? Pages 7-13 in their Winter 2013 book has lessons.

Ida Lee and Claude Moore, both county/city rec centers, offer swimming lessons at lower prices than the swim schools. That said, I am really happy with the lessons my girls are taking at Tom Dolan.

I second Tom Dolan. My kids have tried many swim classes (Ida Lee, Potomac Swim School, Lifetime Fitness, Tom Dolan). Ida Lee classes did not help them at all, neither did Lifetime. Potomac Swim School was great for my son and my daughter is at Tom Dolan now doing great.

My kids have taken swim lessons at both Claude Moore and Ida Lee and they are both reasonably priced. I prefer Ida Lee as the air circulation at Claude Moore is awful. I think they were fine there. They don't have issues with being in water as I know some kids are more hesitant, so they picked up on the skills quickly. Once they were able to swim at least 25 yards, I had them join the summer swim team in Ashburn Village and their swimming abilities have improved greatly.
