In my opinion, best Chinese around! Always prompt, yummy and polite! Thoughts from others??

Cafe Opera is the best around, in my humble opinion.

I'm with you! I tried Cafe Opera once b/c everyone raves about it, but I wasn't impressed. We go to Chin Chin consistently. Not crazy about their egg rolls, but that seems to be a lost cause in this area anyway. Everything else has always been delicious!

    Yens. Opera is second.

At Yen's, ask for their Special Menu and prepare for more legit Chinese fare.

I like Chin-Chin for take out and Cafe Opera and Yen's for when we eat at the restaurant. Chin-Chin is closer to my house so that's why we use them for take-out.

Well, in my opinion, Chin Chin is really American Chinese. I tried it twice and everything tasted just sweet, there is no other flavor. Nothing wrong with it, just not my taste. I won't go back. I go to Rockville for more authentic Chinese food. In Ashburn area, I really haven't found a Chinese place I'd go back to :shakehead:. Yen is alright but pricy, the food is better than Chin Chin but still pretty disappointing. Still on the lookout for a good Chinese place in this area...

Yes I have. It was okay. I go there primarily because it is the closest to me.
I have also been to Hong Kong next to Global Foods. Not impressed, either. I noticed that there is a new Chinese place opened by the Passion Fin Asian Bistro, I forgot the name. Maybe I should give that a try as well.

It's been a week of Chinese...tried Cafe Opera for takeout the other night and I was not at all impressed. The crispy noodles that come with the soup are very bland and I thought the Lo Mein was too. My boss ordered us lunch yesterday from Good Fortune (I think) and was not impressed with them either. Looks like I will be sticking to Chin Chin, but will continue to try others. Btw, tried Asia Cafe in the past and did not like it at all...very greasy!!

Have not tried Chin-Chin. I do like Cafe Opera's chicken yellow curry. Plus, the owners are nice and I really like that classical is always on in the background. They always recognize my number for carryout from the caller ID and say hello. Location is easy to pick up from on the way home.

As long as the food tastes good I wouldn't mind (or know) the difference between authentic and americanized. I would imagine that opinions vary based on what people like to eat. For example, my husband prefers the orange chicken at Yen's Cafe to that of Cafe Opera.

Took it on the Chin Chin tonight for our first - and last - visit. Won't be back. Hot and Sour soup was neither. Food was bland - and sweet. The Thai specialties were not spicy. If you have the misfortune to find yourself there, double check your tab - the prices on the check were higher than what was on the menu. You're better off getting a pizza next door at Manhattan.
