Recently my sister's home in Maryland is robbed. She lived in this upscale neighborhood for almost 30 years, never once there was any robbery. Three homes were robbed in the same say in the neighborhood.

Robbers came in from the patio door. Patio doors are the least watched as they face on the back side of the home, often facing woods, least chance of getting detected while breaking in.

They went directly into the bedroom and stole the jewellery from the dresser and money from the desk. Rest of the house was left untouched. I guess the robbers are smart enough to know that most of us keep the valuables in the bedrooms as we relate privacy with security.

Bedroom may be least secure location in the home to store valuables.

I would suggest buying a Charlie Bar at Home Depot or Lowes and install it in the glass slider. The other option is to place a wood stick between the door (Cheaper and easy) The glass slider doors are very easy to pop the lock.
