We are flying out of DCA this summer and wondering what is the best option for long-term parking (a week). I see there is an economy lot which is $14 per day. I also see options for shuttles from local hotels that provide long-term garage parking at half the cost. Has anyone tried the hotel parking? Is it too much of a hassle? Trying to weigh cost with convenience. TIA.

I have used hotel parking. It's pretty easy. You can buy it online too. Avg $5-6/day. Use same hotel's shuttle to go to airport. When you get back, call hotel for a shuttle. You'd have to wait about 10-15 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. Very convenient. http://www.easyparkfly.com/ The hotel I used was Crystal Gateway Marriott. They have covered parking

Thanks, that is the website that I found today while surfing the internet. Gave me a quote for the Crystal City Doubletree that was half the cost of a week at DCA economy lot. Thanks for the input everyone!

This is what my confirmation email from GlobalAirportParking.com states about cancellation... I guess other places cancellation policy should be somewhat similar.

Cancellation Policy: Any reservation that is cancelled will be charged a 10% cancellation fee to the amount paid subject to a minimum of $5.00. In order to cancel a reservation the customer must contact GlobalAirportParking.com at least 24hrs prior to their scheduled start date and time of the parking. Regardless if the parking reservation is used or not there will be no refunds issued without notification at least 24hrs prior to the start date and time. On each confirmation Global includes the full address, driving directions and phone number to the parking facility. Not being able to locate the facility on the day of your trip will not be accepted as a reason to cancel the reservation as it will violate our 24hr notice policy.
