I have some grass or weeds coming up in the seams of my driveway (where the concrete meets the asphalt) and I want to remove it but do not want to use round up or any sort of chemical like that. Any thing else viable?

One reviewer on amazon says "Beware of using it on asphalt or mulch because your next call may be to the fire department..."

I did most of them, but there are a bunch of little ones and I think grass growing in it. I guess I could get a small tool of some sort in there. I just want something to kill off that area.

Boiling water with vinegar, is a good idea, thank you.

I found boiling water with vinegar to work to some extent. Now, I just whack 'em with this

    http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-...words=String+Trimmer/Edger+with+Quick+Charger

Although I think we have the 18V version maybe. Got that last year (?) with the hedge trimmer (same battery) and have not looked back. Enough to do the whole yard on one charge.

Where the grass meets the asphalt I filled in with some type of crack repair stuff - I've rec'd it on this forum before as it lasts and it easy to use. Greatly cuts down on the weeds.

Roundup is scary stuff...non selective....i.e. kills anything...

Thank goodness they can't sell anything radioactive...

Jerry Baker has a great recipe with gin and vinegar that'll kill just about anything it hits. We use this to kill the weeds between the flagstone on our patio. Here's the info:

Wild Weed Wipeout Tonic: Mix 1 tbsp. of vinegar, 1 tbsp. of Baby Shampoo, 1 tbsp. of gin, and 1 qt. of warm water in a bucket and pour it into a handheld sprayer. Drench each weed to the point of run-off, taking care not to get any spray on the surrounding plants. For particularly stubborn weeds, use apple cider vinegar instead of white vinegar.

Got Weeds? Use Vinegar: Homemade Weed Killer 1 gallon of white vinegar 1/2 cup salt Liquid dish soap (any brand) Empty spray bottle Put salt in the empty spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way up with white vinegar. Add a squirt of liquid dish soap. This solution works best if you use it on a hot day. Spray it on the weeds in the morning, and as it heats up it will do its work.

BEST Weed Spray. I made 3 gallons for around $4.00 last year after seeing a pin. Worked better than Round Up & killed the weeds/stray grass on first application. One gallon of APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, 1/2 c table salt, 1 tsp Dawn. Mix and pour into a smaller spray bottle.

I have a Pinterest page that includes non-toxic options in you are interested.

I wanted to add this to all the great tips...

Home Depot carries the plastic spray bottles with a sprayer rugged enough to stand up to vinegar, clorox and industrial chemicals. What I like is the space to write the recipe and a box to check off so you know if the bottle spray is for the windows, weed killing, bathroom cleaning, etc.

For super clean windows and mirrors try this recipe.

    1/4 C vinegar
    2 cups of water
    1 drop of dish soap
couple tsps of lemon juice for added scent
