way to go beige SUV

I just had the biggest scare in quite a while.
It's about 10 AM this morning and I'm jogging north on Glebe View. Bright day and I'm easy to see. As I cross Vestals Gap there is a middle age guy in a beige/gold SUV driving up the hill. I enter the intersection before he reaches the point where he ought to slow down for the stop sign. But he never slows down, barrels through the intersection to make a left turn at full speed and almost ran me over. I had to jump out of the way, and only was missed by about 3 inches. This was the most reckless driving I have ever personally witnessed. He never saw me until I yelled as I jumped away (unless he was actually trying to hit me). I just hope it scared him as much as it scared me.

On the bright side, I got a huge adrenaline rush and finished the run pretty strong.

this is why i stay on the COUCH. no one has ever almost hit me with an SUV while my lazy tukkus is parked on a lazy boy... lol

 

The only safe way for pedestrians to cross an intersection these days is when drivers completely stop at stop sign and wave at them to cross.

 

This is just down the street from me and what I'm seeing every day. Definitely an uptick of "young and stupid" since summer began. Home from college I guess. Just a matter of time until someone accidentally drops their phone into their coffee and mows over some kids.

 

Doberman's near miss is from "a middle aged guy", so he must be a professor at said college.....

 

There was a transition. I was making a general statement about the traffic.
