    The proposed amendments (http://loudoun.gov/DocumentCenter/View/115200),

"Exemptions. The maximum sound levels shown in Table 5-1507 (C) shall not apply to the following:
    (1) All aircraft sound."

Whereas before it was limited to areas around IAD.

Nobody likes roaring planes overhead during dinner/kid's bedtime louder than they already are (exceeding 70 dB!)

Let the board of supervisors know!

Does this really have anything to do with commercial aircraft? Isn't that governed by the FAA?

FAA owns the airspace above the airport, but loudoun county owns the land the airport sits on. If MWAA wants to add a runway or accommodate 747s landing and taking off, they must consult Loudoun County, conduct appropriate environmental impact studies, etc.

Having a noise ordinance gives the Board of supervisors a guideline. Without a guideline loudoun county can't act against the MWAA.

I believe the intended change in the noise ordinance is to look at data centers. I don't believe there is any change about aircraft.

The changes in the ordinances are linked (http://loudoun.gov/DocumentCenter/View/115200).

The following exemptions were added in the upcoming proposal.

    - All aircraft sound (whereas before an exemption was applied only in the vicinity of IAD).
    - All generators and equipment operating under emergency situations
    - Sound sources related to construction, maintenance, repair between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm.
    - All air conditioner condensers for Dwelling, Single-Family Attached and Dwelling, Single-Family Detached.

    Cut from the proposed changes:

    Exemptions.
The maximum sound levels shown in Table 5-1507 (C)shall not apply to the following:
new version : (1) All aircraft sound
old version : (1) The limitations stated above shall not apply within any district nor within any area subject to a Noise Exposure Forecast in excess of the 30 level as indicated on the "Noise Exposure Forecast (NEF) Areas in the Vicinity of Dulles International Airport for 1975 Operations, September 1969" as prepared by FAA. The boundaries of such noise areas within Loudoun County are indicated on the Zoning Map.

I think you may be misinterpreting this. Best way to know for sure is attend one of the meetings.

all I know is.. the DC was loud at Loudoun Station in the parking lot at the movie theater... I wouldn't want that living there. But they built the place knowing that issue...
