Is there already a thread discussing the pharmacy change at Target? They are transferring all prescriptions to CVS also.
That is a very friendly way to put it tyger31. I can't stannnnnd CVS
If starting a new thread on this particular topic of pharmacists is necessary, I will to that.
    So our other options are
Wegmans: (kind of out of the way for me, running allover town for prescriptions for 4 people (hubbs and me, and mom and dad),
I am not wild about driving back and forth so often

CVS: bleh, just a weird store, grumpy pharmacists in my opinion

    Walgreens: equally impersonal pharms

    Harris Teeter: ??

GIANT: in the farm, or over near Homie Depot??

Am I missing a gold mine pharmacy?

I guess our needs are simpler. I drop off, I pick up. Never have had a problem in discussions with the pharmacist at Walgreens.

Our issue is if you need a 24hr... That's a haul over to drainsville

We never had success there- lines always too long, too hard to find someone to help, weird rules about what you could buy and get the discount on gas, out of stock of basics. I am not sad to see the Safeway going. I hope something decent goes in. We could walk to this but we always drive to the Giant by the Home Depot.

As recently as February, mid-day on a weekend, I walked in there to get a few items (I was in the shopping center area) - took a look at the lines with only two registers open, said never mind, and drove over to harris teeter. (I didn't feel like standing in line 10-15 minutes for just 5-6 items). My experience with harris teeter is they always open another line, even if I'm just the second person in line, and even when it's obvious that the transaction ahead of me is only a few short moments from finishing up.

    Thank you Flynnibus.
I will start a new thread and see if I can find a reasonable replacement for mom and dad's pills
I DO know the Giant in the Village is always a mad house. I hate going in that store.

Stopped in on my way home. 30% off though it was not clear if this was off the sale prices as well or just the original price.

Harris Teeter pharmacies are good. The both close between 2-2:30 for lunch but they are quick.

30% on top of the normal sale prices. Its not on all items yet, but many categories.. H&BA, Pantry, Pet, Frozen, and more.

Whatever's on the tag.. the register takes another 30% off in addition.

CHECK YOUR PRICES! 8 ct of Gillette Proshield razor blades was $46 before discount. same razor blades on amazon- $33. you can bet they are some mark ups to be marked down... just another disappointment from this location. smh.

FWIW...I ran in to Safeway to pick up one item and all but one register was open. Check out lines were 2-4 people deep. Better late than never
There are a lot of deals to be had. If you buy the same things often then you know the normal prices usually charged. As with any store claiming sales, caveat emptor.

Love the sign on the door that says 30% off making you think you are getting discounts when you don't. Classic Safeway move.

Also love that we are putting in a light and an entrance from Claiborne that apparently was never actually meant to be used to handle traffic to a store that is closing. They can close the whole shopping center for all I care if that is how it is being run.

Not sure what you mean. I shopped there the other day. All regular prices rang up correctly, including the items that were on sale (Safeway Club discount).
After it was totalled, an additional 30% was discounted.

I like several stores in that center: Dollar Store, Bonefish, Parallel, Post Office, American Steakhouse, Charminar, ABC store, Mali Thai.

Well when I got home and checked there was no 30% discount marked on the receipt for anything. Don't know if that was cashier error or Safeway deceptive labeling again.

The cashier clearly wasn't all there. I got $60 cash back and the bills were all crumpled up. Took me 2 minutes to put them in my wallet.

It's only 30% off areas that have the sign hanging. Even then sometimes I couldn't tell if it was just certain items in a department or not. They also said the signs may move daily so on sale one day and maybe not the next. It's hard to match up specific items that are/aren't for sale since the receipt lists sale by dept not line item. Also heard one of the workers said a Publix is moving in.

The answer is no. I stopped by after work hoping to get me a nice $5 six pack of craft beer. A lot of stuff was already picked over.

I'm pretty certain everything is 30% off. You can't code the cash registers to know where they hung the signs that day.
Wine was discounted, so I don't know why beer isn't.

Wine was not discounted 30%over the weekend, I only received the 10% on that. What I did purchase with the 30%, sales, and coupons, I saved over 45% on my grocery bill on Sunday. I can't locate my receipt now, but my 30% was marked by department.

I second that! I suggested the location to Trader Joe's earlier today. According to their website, they do want suggestions for locations and the nearest one is pretty far. Obviously the space is much larger than they would use but still I hope . . .
