Since Target and Safeway are sending all of their current customers to CVS in Pipe Line plaza (that will be a mad house)
I am hoping some one here can tell me which pharmacy locally they have good luck with. My parents are in Loudoun now, at Ashby Ponds and I am managing all of their medical stuff.
I would like to have a good pharmacy to work with. Mom and dad take a couple of prescriptions each.(nothing complicated fortunately)
Please could you offer some great pharmacies and if you like, which ones I should not consider.
Thanks loads and bunches for any assistance.

Target pharmacy is changing to a CVS in their store.
Safeway pharmacy is closing and they are sending all of their current records to CVS.

I do not really like dealing with CVS. They tend to change pill ID without notice, and do not really have decent customer service.
Please do not suggest the pharmacy in Giant in Ashburn Village. That place is also a mad house

I don't like dealing with CVS either. When we first moved here in 1988, CVS was the only gig in town, however, I was not happy with them. I found Safeway Pharmacy and loved Susan, she was great. I've transferred all of our prescriptions to Walgreens off of Belmont Ridge. I've had mine one prescription from Walgreens and have been very happy.

    thank you, Tyger31
You have been happy with Walgreens?
I am sort of wavering between Harris Teeter and Walgreens. Fortunately mom and dad do not have any unusual medicines, but I like to have a pharmacist that I can talk to.
Ha! maybe I will run up there tomorrow and talk with them (honestly I forgot they are up there).
I do like the fact that there are several of them around.
Thank you so much for responding to my "state of alarm" :)

We're at Wegmans and I really like the way the pharmacists manage our prescriptions. They know our entire family and thankfully for us, they are near places we tend to go throughout the week.

Have used Wegmans for several years now and best service hands down. If there is an insurance issue or another issue they are quick to call you to give you a heads up and plenty of follow-through as well. There is a drive-thru option at the Dulles location and thought I recently saw an ad for free shipping now. I also recently used Loudoun Family Pharmacy. They offer free shipping and were able to get a prescription through at low cost with my insurance. I don't like having multiple pharmacies prefer to consolidate but in this case Loudoun Family Pharmacy was able to come through when others had difficulty. I would look into both.

Yes, I've been very happy with Walgreens, no issues at all. I have also heard Wegmans has a good pharmacy according to friends of mine, but I prefer Walgreens, it's closer. It's all about convenience.

I also would recommend the Walgreens in Goose Creek. Linda is very personable.

Walgreens is great. Have a child with complex medical issues and they've always been helpful and responsive.

It is NOT convenient when the refills are lost in the mail. It took me almost 6 months to get that issue fixed. The only reason we use them for one prescription is because it would not be covered by insurance otherwise.

I like the Walgreens in Southern Walk. I really like Walgreen's online service for managing your prescriptions, setting up auto refills, text/email alerts, etc.
