Four Way Stop Coming to Mooreview Parkway/Croson Lane Intersection

    A few neighbors asked VDOT about the safety of the intersection after the latest serious accident on June 20th. This was a horrible accident. There were three small children in the minivan that pulled into oncoming traffic on Croson Lane. The van flipped twice and all of the children were injured. One child was seriously injured and medevaced by helicopter to Fairfax Hospital.

    We received the VDOT response yesterday.
    I find this very encouraging and a positive for the community. The next step will be to make sure people don't run the new stop sign on Croson Lane.

    People dont stop at the signs at that intersection now. Not sure more will do much.

    Correct but something is better than nothing. I am glad VDOT listened to the community and plans to take action.

    I agree. People will continue to BLOW through the signs. SAw some young kid doing that today at that intersection. Only way to get people to stop is to have traffic lights and police enforcement.

    New light at Wyndridge and Claiborne, saw a Minivan blow through red light, going southbound towards Crosin lane. So the light did nothing to help stop that.

    When the light was blinking red and still had the stop signs, I saw three cars blow through... one right after the other.
