Does anyone know what they are actually doing on Rt 28? There appears to be a lot of digging in the middle, but no real progress other than new sign poles. There doesn't appear to be enough room for more lanes. And, it appears that it not even close to being completed any time soon. It just looks like a lot of tax dollars being spent for digging.

Too bad there won't be a fourth lane northbound from the Toll Rd. to Waxpool.

The fourth lane from the Toll Road north to STERLING BLVD is in design now. It should go to construction in the next 12 months. Note I said to Sterling Blvd. The special tax district members who fund these improvements blocked extending the 4th lane another 200 yards to blend into the Waxpool exit. I encourage people to write to the BoS for the county to see if they can pull any strings. I work for the design/engineering company on the project and we find it ridiculous that the fourth lane doesn't "exit only" into the waxpool interchange.

Chris... do you know if there has been much discussion or response to this concern? If no changes are made, what will happen to the 4th lane at Sterling blvd? This sounds like an obvious choke point that will actually defeat the whole purpose of the 4th lane since the backup will extend right back to the toll road....?

My understanding (keep in mind I don't work directly on this project) is that the original plans for the Rt 28 tax district only included widening to Sterling Blvd. As such, all those businesses who have been footing the bill via the special tax district said no to the original request to lengthen it to Waxpool. I haven't seen any plans but would assume it would either taper into the 3rd lane or become the westbound exit ramp. It is most definitely going to be a doozy of choke point.
