New place about to open in old bank location at corner of Truro Parish and Chickacoan Trail Drive.
One sign says Sushi restaurant and another own says Chinese. I guess it will be both.

Gave it a try last night. It is essentially a Chinese food restaurant with a sushi bar.
Inside looked nice. It's spacious which leads to a noise problem.
Service was a bit chaotic. Two different people coming over, both trying to take orders, forgetting the order, etc. No big deal.
Drinks came. Iced tea as basically water with a weak tea flavor. Clearly wasn't made properly. Changed it in for water. No big deal.
Soup order came. The bug doing the backstroke in the Won Ton soup WAS a big deal.

We chose to leave and go to Cafe Opera where we had an excellent meal.

The sushi needs a little refining, but we've really liked everything else we've gotten.

Finally bit the bullet tonight... They seem like nice folks trying hard. I'm conflicted and won't mention anything about my specific experience, but if there was a dead pool I would put my bet around July.

I like Egg Foo Young, which isn't at Cafe Opera, so thought I could have it at Good Fortune. sadly, we never made it to the entrees!

Went here for dinner last night. At first we thought it was being run by teenagers...only until later did we see someone we thought might be the owner. We generally like to sit at the sushi bar to see the chef in action...big mistake...because we saw the chaos what was happening with the single sushi chef. Plus they elevated the sushi bar so you can't see anything and it's back by the server station. We asked if there were any father's day specials for the dads and the teenage host said abruptly no. He didn't even ask what I later learned was his mother. We were definitely hoping for a better meal and service. Special rolls were bland and missing elements listed on the menu and salad was watery. Wasabi was not spicy either like it had been made days ago. We won't be back. You'll have a better meal and service any day at Passion Fin.

Personally, I'm not a fan of sushi but do hope it survives as those people seem to have put a lot of time/effort preparing the former bank that had been ugly sitting empty for many years, and I'd rather see a business succeed than an unused eyesore in the neighborhood.

We went for the first time last night and really enjoyed the food, which was very tasty. I ordered the shrimp with mixed veggies which I really enjoyed, and the serving was very generous. Our waiter was a very nice young man. We had no complaints at all and will definitely return!
