We switched to Dr. Kravitz after Wiger sold his business and the horrible transition. I had a great consult with him for my two children and wouldn't hesitate to recommend for others to meet with Dr. Kravitz who are also looking to switch orthodontics. Sounds like there are several great options in the area so would encourage anyone who is looking to transition to look look at these options. I don't regret for one second going with my gut and moving on from the former Wiger practice.

Dr Wiger is located at this practice in Alexandria VA. Started there in October 2016

"In May of 2016, Dr. Wiger sold Wiger Orthodontics to spend more time with his family and to focus on direct patient care rather than running a large orthodontic practice. As a testimony to Dr. Wiger's reputation and work ethic most of his staff members had been with him for over a decade, some as long as 17 years. He came to Kingstowne Orthodontics in October of 2016 and we are very fortunate to have such an esteemed and recognized orthodontist to treat our patients."

Wow....wonder why he wanted to join another practice instead of running his own? Too much to handle, perhaps?

I don't have any insight into specifics, but I know that running your own practice is more business management and HR than actually practicing medicine. It's amazingly freeing when you can just show up for work and do your job than worrying about cash flow, rent, etc. After 23 years (in his case), I'm sure it really was about quality of life.
