Specifically if you live in Southern Walk, be sure to validate the Broadband Coverage Map for your house. Use the map to validate whether your address correctly shows whether you have internet access. If the map is not correct, there is a way to submit a claim to correct the availability displayed by the map. The map lists my house as having Verizon fiber (correct) and Comcast cable (incorrect). Southern Walk is locked into fios.

That is not totally correct. Another telecom company can approach Broadlands or Southern Walk at any time about access. That was the purpose of removing the exclusivity of the easements with the previous company. To say that Southern Walk is locked implies exclusivity remains, which it does not. Now, would someone want to build out an infrastructure on their own accord to wire up Southern Walk knowing that there is a contract to provide bulk internet services for all homes in the neighborhood with Verizon, that's up to them.

Southern Walk residents are currently locked into fios for internet as the monthly SW HOA (i.e., internet) charge is mandatory. That doesn't mean that there is exclusivity. A resident can purchase service from another internet service provider (cellular or satellite) on top of the monthly fios charge.

So yes, exclusivity without exclusivity. Same song, second verse.

The main point for my post is that the coverage map said that Comcast internet is available for my home. I am not aware that to be true. Others in Southern Walk should confirm whether Comcast internet is shown as available (and submit for correction).

Comcast Corporation (Xfinity) disputed my challenge that the Provider does not offer the technology reported to be available at this location. When I go to the Xfinity website to find out what is offered for my home, I get the message Hmm, that address wasn't found. Comcast has 60 days to resolve the challenge. Hopefully, others have submitted a challenge. While there is available broadband (fios), the map is a false representation of available options.

Comcast provided me with their response to the FCC:

Upon further review of the location ID in question. Comcast has determined that the location is currently not serviceable by Comcast.

The location ID in question has been marked not serviceable by Comcast in the FCC's National Broadband Map.
