Looks like the season to be solicitating is upon us.....

Today, some young kids were going door-to-door wearing their St. Joseph's Roofing company shirts solictating residents for roofing services. I asked him if he had a permit to be going solicitating and he said no. I believe Loudoun County requires solicitators to be licensed to be able to go door to door selling products/services.....See snapshot below--

To the HOA....Can the HOA look into putting up no tresspassing / no solictating signs like many neighborhoods do such as our neighboring HOA Village of Waxpool does? They have put up such signs at the beginning of EACH of their neighborhood entrances. We even have "no parking" signs up on private streets within Broadlands...I would think this would give solicitators a second thought about bothering us especially in the evenings when families are trying to have dinner/family time together.

(I've had these "kids" walk into my garage trying to sell services to me and I reminded them that they were tresspassing into my private space before I kicked them off my property.)

    Thoughts?

How does this get enforced? Who enforces? LCSO?

It is annoying-- we have a No Solicitor sign on our door. It does not stop them. Not many people follow simple rules anymore.

That's what Im afraid of...that they ignore the sign on the door. As far as I know, the LCSO does enforce it as long as they do NOT have permits. If they have a permit, they are allowed to be going door-to-door but you can have them banned from your property by getting a no-tresspass order against them. If they step on your property, you can call the sheriff's office to press charges against them.

Its an uphill battle I believe....I believe that is why the HOA won't put signs up knowing that its just throwing money away on something that doesn't work.

Sigh is all I can say.
