This is retarded.. Nintendo claims they will have 4 MILLION units in country by end of year.. that's nearly one for every 75 people. Yet, you can't get these suckers anywhere without paying out the butt on ebay (nearly 100% premium)

Went early this morning because all the stores were advertising inventory and all the websites had them confirming at least a dozen or so units.

    Sterling..

ToysRus - 27 - had to be there at 11:30pm THE NIGHT BEFORE
    CircuitCity - 10!
    Target - 18!

I was there about 4:20am.. and was 35 in line at target. BestBuy should have had at least 20.. but their lines were bigger then anyone.

Gamestop (like most of the retailers) had stock this week but were all holding them till their Sunday advertisement. Gamestops do not get very many pieces (they said they would have 9 on Saturday night). Given the uncertainty of where people would line up for the store, I didn't try Gamestop vs the other stores where volumes and setups would be more in my favor.

    Check out http://wiitracker.com/

You have to buy a Wii game bundle (which costs more than the system alone).

They have a history at the bottom of the page which shows when the last batch of Wiis were available.

During the past few days ToysRUs, Walmart, and eToys all had them available.

    Good luck!

i hear that they are slipping out of peoples hands and flying thru the tv screens! you'd think there would be a strap to secure t to your hand to prevent that mishap...

i see alot of unhappy consumers with broken tvs at the hands of an overly excited gamer in the coming new year!

There is a strap, but people are morons regardless...but they've issued a replacement strap that's supposed to be stronger.

I've had the trackers on my yahoo page since day one :) Getting them is a matter of timing. If you buy a bundle you have a much greater chance (actually not too hard) but I'm not going to buy $500-$600 worth of stuff when I'm looking to spend about $350 :)

There is a strap, but people are stupid don't hold onto it when the swing it. Nintendo has since doubled the thickness of the strap and offered free replacements.

Here in Pittsburgh, I've seen them adverstised in the local paper's classified section anywhere from $350 to 500.

    FWIW ... PS3s are listed from $900 to 1200 !!

And if you are willing to buy those, I have some Trader Joe's Candy Cane Jo Jo cookies I'm willing to part with for $10.00 a box.

    (Originally 1.99).

    I'd rather have the PS3.

I know the Wii's selling point is the controller and fun aspect, but I think they really shot themselves in the foot with lack of HD support (480p tops).

I'm content with a PS2 and Guitar Hero. What's all the fuss?

    mmm, guitar hero.

You pick up 2 yet? I'm not a fan of the songs...some of the Nu-Metal that's on there but there are a few winners (no Bark At The Moon or anything).

Got it and I'm working on it. Don't know as many of the songs as on GH1 but I'm sure I'll know them intimately by the time I'm done! Bark at the Moon became my personal hell there for a while.

PS3s you can actually find in stock now. Not everywhere, but in limited amounts. Wii unfortunatly still is elusive :(

Steve, Last Tuesday a guy I work with was at the Sterling Best Buy and the truck came in and offloaded some wiis and 25 ps3s. He got a ps3 and talked to the driver, it seems tuesday in the mid morning may be your best shot. Hope you get one, it looks really cool. Can't wait to try out Zelda on it.

The signup period for the Amazon raffle is over and the updated odds are available:

    PS3 (20gb) - 22:1
    PS3 (60gb) - 44:1
    Wii - 28:1

Nintendo's newest game console. It's less powerful than the next-gen systems by Microsoft and Sony, but the gameplay is supposedly more fun and targeted towards non-traditional gamers and it has an IR based motion tracking controller thats pretty interesting:
