I think they got the roles reversed in that parody...should have been the other way around.

the wii isn't supposed to be sexy.. its bubbly and shallow. I think that's what they are portraying.. that and of course the PS3's arrogence of superior tech but no one cares :)

Wally's had 5 of them around noon. My better half was pushed out of the way by another mom trying to get one of them but in the end we have a Wii.

    Wal-Mart, I assume.

re: the commercial. The ps3 should have been the sexy chick that will drain your wallet and is impossible to get while the wii is the fat chick that's a cheap date and is fun to play with as long as none of your friends find out. :)

Is this game toy for adults or kids? The last game computer I had was an Atari in the late 80's. I have not touched one since. Anyway, I've heard that the youth generation is into the video games. Are adults also playing the games? I usually don't even have time to catch the news or occational sports show on TV, but maybe someday I will make up for the lost time and try one of these games.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

I play PS2 occasionally, though the only games I've played are Tiger Woods Golf and Madden. I'd like to try a D&D-type game--such as Might & Magic--some day, but it doesn't seem like game makers support very many PS2-based fantasy role-playing games. (Can anyone recommend one?) They seem to be mostly PC-based.

    I'm 36, by the way.

I play mostly PC games (mostly FPS shooters and flight/driving sims) with the occasional PS2 game thrown in (GTA, Guitar Hero 1/2, Madden, Bully). No offense, but nothing seems more revolting that the MMORPGs they have for the PC (World Of Warcraft), I can't justify the kind of time investment those things require...seems too nerdy for me.

I'm 30 and can't imagine having not touched a computer since the late 80's.

edit: 'game' computer...you have to be using a computer or you couldn't have posted above. :)

Atari was already ancient by the late '80s. I had "joystick thumb" by '83.

I miss game systems. I could sit for hours and play. When I was really into a game, my butt would be sore from sitting for so long.

Then I got married, games ended soon thereafter.

I have certainly saved alot of $$$ as I would pretty much buy EVERY new system that came out.

The sad thing is that I am 32. I have never owned a "game computer" except for an Atari 800, Atari 400, and Atari 2600. They were fun when I was growing up. Oh yea, the Atari 400 came with a flat touch sensitive keyboard. My dad upgraded the keyboard to one with actual push button keys. I remember writing a "program" about this time of the year in the 80's that would make a Christmas tree light up. We did not have a monitor, but the image was displayed on the color TV. If I remember correctly the programs were stored on cassette tapes in a device that looked like an old (pre digital) answering machine. The modem was made for our old Bell Atlantic telephone. You would literally put the telephone handset into a receptacle and it would make the awful computer noises through the handset. The printer was awful. It was similar to a typewriter. The ribbon would hammer against the paper. It was so loud that we designed a cover to lessen the noise. Nonetheless, we were not allowed to print at night while mom was sleeping. The only cartridge that we owned was “Basic.” You could enter commands to load disks. Our disk drive weighed as much as a… well, let’s just say you needed two hands to move it. If I remember correctly, the command was “load “D:” I am sure that game machines have come a long way since pong and centipede. Don't get me wrong; I use a computer every day for my current job. Mostly legal database programs like Concordance, and DocuMatrix. I guess the biggest reason for not being able to play video games is because of an 80+ hour/week job, ridiculous long commute, and 2 kids. I barely even have time for necessities (yes, I do shower…..occasionally). Anyway, some day I will find out what all the hype is about. I see people sleeping in the parking lots of major retailers, just to purchase one of these machines. I can’t imagine. But, then again, there is a lot that goes on that I can’t believe. Mainly I was just wondering if Adults are enjoying these games on their time off.
