Cliff, it could be worse. Penn State is 0-8 vs. Michigan since 1996. But I was pulling for them to beat Florida last Tuesday, just like I cheered for all the Big Ten teams this bowl season.

It's definately harder to cheer for some teams than others, though. ;)

That's not ideal either. When I lived in California I hated always missing the first part of prime time games since they would often start before I could get home from work. Maybe Mountain or Central time zones have it best as the games start long enough after 5pm but end before midnight.

I've been told Mountain is the best for sports. I hated having games start at 9 and 10 on the weekends, but the night games have worked out well.

Baywatch- I am with you - where did all these Buckeyes come from and where haved they been hiding? We proudly fly the flag out in front of the house each fall/winter. Our son is even named after a recent OSU player!

Perhaps next season we should all meet up at Great American Steakhouse or somewhere with big tvs and form our own Buckeye booster club. There used to be folks who met at the Damon's in Fairfax for games years back and it was a fun bunch. Of course to watch a game in public with non-family the hubby might need to clean up his *spirited* language a bit :)

    Go Bucks!!

We're not all Buckeyes. A lot of us Big Ten fans will support other Big Ten teams in the bowl games, even if that team is usually a mortal enemy! But there is an obnoxious amount of Buckeye fans around here!:sickhurl:

Vacliff - I know not everyone is one of the choosen few :) (kidding, kind of). I actually married in to the madness of OSUvMI. I was born and raised Purdue so I get the "big happy Big 10 family" feeling at bowl time. We cheered hard for MI the other day and were really bummed at how close WI got and couldn't make it happen. We are both sick of hearing how slow the Big 10 is compared to the SEC.

Related note - did you happen to catch the HBO special on the OSU/MI rivalry? Great show.

HaHa. Don't you just love that myth? All the talk last year before the Outback Bowl was how fast Tennesee was compared to PSU. First play from scrimmage, WR Deon Butler blows by their cornerback for a 30 yard pass play. Then Tony Hunt starts running over people. The Vols are still tring to get the number of that truck over a year later. The same thing happened in the 2005 Orange Bowl agaianst Florida State. So much for that "southern speed".

I know the Bucks are as fast man-for-man as any team in the nation -- they just need to show it. The question is, will Tressel play it close to the vest (no pun intended) as is his history, or will he come out guns blazing?

Yes, I've watched it a few times. I grew up outside of Detroit so I was around for the "ten year war." Football at its best!!
We'll probably never see another Woody Hayes again. It would be too politically incorrect. But no will will ever match his ferocity, intensity, and love of the game.

I know, I know: Let's have someone start running a Buffalo Wild Wings here in Ashburn or even somewhere close, like Herndon. I have the perfect location: The old Red Lobster on Centerville in Herndon! I would get a sitter for my kids and hop out there with my husband in a second.

And don't get me started on how the wings taste at Buffalo Wing Factory. I have tried many kinds twice and haven't gone back in awhile.

I still say Winchester is a little two far, as is Falls Church (soon to open Buffalo Wild Wings).

I am thinking the weck roll was new to too many people so they dropped it.

The "SEC is faster than the Big 10" may indeed be myth, but it's origins are more related to Florida hammering Ohio State and USC (I know they aren't in the SEC, but they exposed Michigan) crushing Michigan in the two biggest bowl games last year (and not Penn State vs. Tennessee in some middling bowl game). I was one who thought that we should have gotten a rematch of Michigan vs. Ohio State for the BCS title last year -- had that happened, we never would have known that those two teams were apparently not worthy. I am pulling for Ohio State tomorrow and hope that they are up to the task.
