We were pretty much way up above you, we were in 413.

A win is important especially since we are chipping out of last last last place and heading in the direction of a playoff shot.

I will also be at the Caps/Flyers game on the 13th up high in the 400's with my brashear jersey.

The Sens game was the first in recent memory when I wasn't populating the 400 level. Believe it or not, I actually like sitting up higher at the games (with the added benefit that the seats are less expensive).

Me too, Madcat. I like seeing the plays develop from above. Plus I'm cheap! When my son and I go to Devils games, we can usually get upper deck center ice and love it there. Plus that's where the obnoxious "Rangers Suck" chants originate.

You know...I went to the game tonight and it was GREAT! Lots of energy and I think the caps did a lot of funny, entertaining things to get the crowd into it. Love the new jumbo tron too. GO CAPS!

I heard the rumors on this this afternoon. Glad to see he is staying a cap.

The sunday game vs. Philly will be rumourless. That will be nice.

Happy to see that Caps fans are so optimistic. I don't think anyone should doubt Ted's desire to win and by inking this deal, I believe he is showing that he is serious. It should also continue to serve notice to future free agents that Washington is a team that is willing to spend if you produce. This is a good sign for the future of the Caps and I believ is much different than when they signed Jagr to a long term deal.

When the Caps dumped players and more importantly, salaries, before the strike, they were very smart in the way they did it. I applaud Ted for the way he has handled the last few years.

It was smart, but I hated to see Petr Bondra get let go so easily. He should have retired a Capital.

13 years, now that's a commitment. Good for Ted, good for Ovechkin making a commitment in a low profile market rather than jumping to seek glory, good for Caps fans.

Can you believe the Caps are only 4 points out of the final playoff spot?! And nothing makes me happier than being ahead of the Maple Ladies!

This is great news and takes a lot of the off ice pressure off of the team. I will be watching OV real close on sunday to see if he is slacking off after signing the contract. I doubt he will, cause he wants to win. But we will see.

Anyone else making the trek to the verizon center on sunday afternoon for the game?

Whoooooooo!!! :happyclap::happybounce::happyclap::happybounce: So happy they signed Ovie. McPhee needed to do this to have any chance of saving (what there is of) hockey in DC. Now I can get my kids the number 8 jersey and not have to worry that he'll be gone next year!! YES, YES, YES!! $124,000,000 for 13-years...that's a game check of about $116,500. Not bad for a nights work heh?

Four points out and climbing. This doesn't seem to be a "hot streak" they are on either. They've been VERY consistant.

what's your beef with the mighty maple leafs?? okay....not so mighty this year. they suck....but if you ever want to get a good hockey night experience----Toronto is the place to go. Unlike a trip to the Verizon Center with 6,000 other people....

I think the hockey experience in Toronto was good -- I went to a game at Maple Leaf Gardens before it closed and it was great. I'm not so sure about Air Canda Centre -- I haven't been to a game there, but it looks more like a wine and cheese crowd in the expensive seats (lower bowl has lots of empty seats at the start and toward the end of periods as far as I can see). If you are a Toronto fan, you probably don't want to hear this but it appears, at least on tv, that the atmosphere in Montreal is superior to that of Toronto.
