Around 11:30am today, State Police just led two teens away in handcuffs from a car that ran off the road on Claiborne. The car was completely off the road and on the walking path.

Car was a white/silver BMW. Luckily, nobody appeared to be on the walking path when the car went off.

    Maybe this was it:

    From Loudoun Sheriff's Office:

"Around Midnight on Friday two men were taken into custody for robbery and credit card fraud. An 18-year-old Ashburn man was getting gas in the Junction Plaza in Ashburn Farm when he was approached by a suspect. The suspect demanded money. The suspect, later identified as Tobias D. Taylor, 18, of Florida, took a credit card from the victim. The suspect got into a car that was occupied by several other subjects. The vehicle left the scene. The suspects were located a short time later. A second man, James M. Rodgers, 19, of Ashburn, was charged with three counts of credit card fraud. Rodgers was released on a $7500 bond. Taylor remains held without bond."

Did the crash render them sterile? It would be nice if they were unable to reproduce.

We heard the accident, but couldn't see much as we were on the opposite side of Claiborne and couldn't see through the trees. The BMV looked like it had a pretty messed up front axle. It's not the first time a car has jumped the curb along that stretch of road. Many years ago (2002), a car jumped the curb, flipped, and slip down the embankment, landing near the tunnel entrance. Weather was not a factor as this was spring/summeer with no rain.
    Drivers need to slow down.

Went down that stretch of Claiborne earlier and there are skid marks all over the road - both lanes. Tree is pretty badly scraped up and the grass is all torn up. I bet speed and an over-correction are to blame.

If every teenager/young 20's person was rendered sterile for doing something really stupid, most of us and/or our children would not be here. ;)

I actually was leaving the neighborhood when the troopers were there with the intoxicated driver. I stopped and got info from the troopers so that we (the association) can recoup the cost for replacing the tree and fixing the turf. It was about 11:30am Sunday and the driver was doing about 90mph.
