Gelato in Ashburn- who???

I give guys- who can tell me where- besides Cafe Rumi and Sal's NY Pizzeria- you can get gelato in Ashburn?!?!?

 

wegmans! by the coffee bar. i've only had it once but it was delish.

 

I think you can get some flavours at Wegmans. There is also the European Deli at the Leesburg Walmart (I don't know if they are still there). If you're brave, I think Giant has started selling the stuff in their freezer section, but not sure how authentic it is.

On a side note, I was at Cafe Rumi on Saturday, and Sam had Caramel Pistachio (I think) in his show case. Sounded interesting.

There's a place called "Rita's" in Ashburn Village that I thought I saw they serve Gelato. Not sure as I've never been there, but I think that what the ad said.

 

Redon1, are you looking for fresh serve or don't mind getting it in the freezer section? Harris Teeter has Caio Bella - I recently had their chocolate hazelnut - delicious!

 

actually i am looking for a vendor to SELL it at Broadlands Live! this year! i would never keep such a decadent treat in my house- my stretch pants would never forgive me... lol

redon1--I have a great place for you to try for Broadlands Live 2008 for Italian Ice Cream and Italian Gelatos. There is a great Italian company from New York and California (and other franchised areas) that is opening or is now opened in Northern VA area.

Piccomolo Italian Ice Cream and Gelatos has over 100 flavors HANDMADE gelatos. We were in New York last year and tried their gelatos. Great food and service. I found out that their new stores are in Fairfax and Fair Oaks Mall areas. They also do great cakes and desserts.

The web site and links with info are below. I know that on Craigslist.com for Northern VA area they are advertising for staff. I do not have their phone numbers. Below is the info for you to find out if they are open or not; and if not, when they will open and perhaps in the meantime they would be interested in receiving "Free Advertising" at the Broadlands Live event this Summer.
