Thank you Nick's Corner Grill, because after you sat me at a table, after I limped on crutches across the practically empty restaurant to a table where you decided not to serve me- I discovered that California Tortilla makes a pretty good steak quesadiila.

Because you left me sitting for 15 minutes with no one coming to the table to so much as offer WATER, as I watched the only other 3 tables receive repeated services, I was able to delete one more local business off of my list of places to give a chance to and spread the word about.

Your snub of my dollars helped me to support a different locally owned business, for which I am sure they are grateful.

Your blatant disregard of my prescence will allow me to give my high marks on every local message board and blog i frequent (am I already up to 10?!? wow- that's a LOT of word of mouth you lose out on.) to OTHER local restaurants that serve the same fare YOU serve, only THEY actually serve it to me, with a smile- such as Bonefish Grill, Cafe Panache, Original Steakhouse, Glory Days and other restaurants that specialize in the same American Cuisine- PLUS service.

Thank you for shortening my list of local restaurants to support- whew, what a time saver removing your establishment from my list.

One final thank you for not even acknowledging me as I left, again- across the restaurant on my crutches, and hungry, showing to me that you could have cared less about losing one of the few customers that even bothered to come to your restaurant at lunch.

sometimes it's the host/hostess that doesn't communicate to the waiter... I would have at least asked once before leaving. But yes, someone should have noticed you!

to her credit- the owner responded promptly, contritely with apologies and an offer to come back on her. but i doubt i will take her up on it. no customer should EVER be blatantly ignored, and i don't want to return as an angry guest of the owner, then have my butt kissed because of THAT reason.

if i DID take precious time out of my life to patronize Nick's ever again, it would be on my own dime as a regular customer. highly unlikely- too many places still to try and be treated with respect.

i don't complain to get freebies- i do it to motivate change. just like i heap praise when it's due to reward a job well done.

Redon1 before you go totally crazy here we are going to do a fun run from this place on the 22second of April, Tuesday night and there will be special drink and food items. And if you don't run show up anyway because there are many that don't run at all and come for the socialization :pofl:

i won't go crazy at all! it happened- i'm telling you all about it, and that's as far as it goes. i'm not trying to keep people from going there- the food might be great! I'll never know since they decided against giving me any service...

and to suggest a run to a woman who has been on crutches since December is plain ol' CRUUUUUEL.... lol

My family and I have been there twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. The service and food were not up to par and we will never go back.

But I do hear that BLUE RIDGE GRILL will be opening up at Brambleton. Now their brunch is absolutely DELISH. I will go there. Yes indeedy do.

i went there after they first opened and if you do the math, their happy hour prices don't add up (at least back then)...then i realized the sucked with service. I haven't been in a while and sorry you haven't heard the bad things about them sooner.

I've been to both places, and I would be less likely to return to either, especially the Blue Ridge Grill. The one in Leesburg has the worst service at lunch and dinner.

Nicks is not too bad, I've had worse, I've had better. No matter, it's all the same around this area.

I have learned that cuisine is not always the best at bars- but I love that Nick's has live bands. I have never eaten there, never intend to, but I will be back again and again if they keep booking live music!

it's only all the same if you go to all the kind of places.
Cafe Opera is nothing like Cafe Panache, which is nothing like Silk Road, which is nothing like Not Your Average Joes, which is nothing like Anothai, which is nothing like Cafe Rumi. YOU are the same- the choices- are not. :)

    Nick's and Blue Ridge

Liked Blue Ridge a lot so we are glad one is opening close...

Nick's - went once - wayyy too expensive for the quality of the food and service. Won't return there.

We've only been to Nick's for drinks (happy hour & Sat. nights for live bands) we've never had any issues...but have heard from others not on this board that the food was not that good...bartenders and servers have always been great when we were there...so I'd suggest if you're going to go there go for the booze and entertainment!

Wow, we've had nothing but good experiences at both Nick's and Blue Ridge Grill. Oh well, more room for us I guess.

Johnny Rockets is good...their fries are great. We first had their food at their place when on an RCCL cruise ship - The Navigator of the Sea.
