Considering that Inova Health "donated" $20,000 to the "Concerned Citizens of Broadlands" http://loudounextra.washingtonpost....ospital-gives-20000-concerned-citizens-group/
    - I'm not surprised that Ms Paice is grand standing yet again. At least Inova finally came clean and publically announced the $$$ they donated. :rolleyes3: -

I am jazzed that BRMC partnered with CNMC - that is a huge Kudos and a great benefit to ALL of LOUDOUN - not just broadlands.

Since we adopted a lilttle one with long term chronic heart issues - maybe in a few years we wont have to go to DC or fight the beltway to Suburban Hospital anymore.

I have shown these plans to ANYONE who has ever asked, so keep your lies in your mouth where they have plenty of room.

Or an aged has been who has nothing better to do all day than post on blogs and take uncalled for swipes at people who try to make a difference.
Your extreme jeoulousy of me and all that I do is getting a bit tiring.

For those of you who don't know yet, I am a doubting Thomas.

First of all, what is the exact relationship between Childrens and BRMC. It almost appears that Childrens has a licensing agreement for area hospitals, not unlike Marriott.

Secondly, I'm not too sure that the "Citizens Group" sponsored by Inova has a lot of citizens involvement. On at least three seperate occassions, when I have received e-mails from Donna, I have offered my support and offered to help in any way possible. I have yet to hear back.

This whole situation is a little batty, and I don't buy that the partnership of BRMC and Children's is not without an underlying agenda of popularizing the project. I find it funny that a proposed hospital was "first in line [in Loudoun County] over an existing hospital.

In the words of the GREAT Arsenio Hall, "Things that make you say, HMMM?"

    Hi folks-
I want to apologize for my previous post. I violated one of my own rules....never post in anger.
Lee's continual lies, assaults, and conspiracies about me, my character and motives finally got to me.
I could generally deal with it when it's just about me, but when he involves my son who had an accident....well, I just saw red.
In particular, I want to apologize to all the hillbillies out there....comparing you to Lee was truly a low blow.

You may be right.....maybe this partnership was done with the thought of making the project more acceptable. But I would say what is wrong with that? The end result is we got world class pediatric services here.

Who knows what the politics of medical collaborations is. It is interesting to note Children's is a not-for-profit hospital and has chosen to partner with a for-profit one. I guess that makes the distinction between the two even less!

I think I probably speak for a lot of people around here and say, no apology needed.

    Attacks on Cliff

    Lee,

I have been ignoring your incessant reposting of the same arguments for months. I have ignored you personal attacks on Cliff, Glenn and others. I have also ignored your unfounded conspiracy theories (Cliff & Glenn are being paid off by HCA, Cliff is hiding the site plan etc.) but the comment about Cliff's trip to Inova's EMERGENCY dept. is totally out of line. Nobody PLANS a visit to the Emergency Dept! Thats why its called an emergency.

I know Cliff and you are completely wrong about him. He didn't plan to visit Inova and his positive comments about his experience there are genuine. Thats the kind of person that he is. I don't know anyone who is more dedicated to making Broadlands the best community around. Its time you stopped speculating and attacking and apologized for your libelous statements about him.

I do apologize about that comment but at the same time Cliff never gave an explanation in his post.

It is absurd that I would use his son's injury had it been known to further any theory. At the same time Cliffs comments were way over the top, especially to accuse me of something that he never explained.

I know from personal experience how traumatic it can be when your child has been seriously injured. Even minor injuries far less then what happened to Cliff's son can be traumatic.

Again I apoligize and I can understand why Cliff blew up, even though I did not know about his child and would never use a tragedy such as that to further any agenda.

Lee, you accuse people of stuff all the time and never explain yourself. Why should ANYONE accept an apology from you?

Your whole reply is basically so called apologies and you pointing your finger back at Cliff, and then you just repeat the same thing. You're not apologizing and you're not being sincere; you're just playing your little games, trying to gain sympathy from other users, too blind to understand your true agenda on these, and on many other forums.

As a moderator, I am fed up with your actions here, as well as your absurd accusations, conspiracy theories, thread hijackings, etc. Steve and I waste countless hours dealing with your posts and enraged users, and I am tired of it. The amount of time we have to spend moderating on these forums because of you, someone who lives almost 2 miles outside of Broadlands, is ridiculous, as well as a total waste of our time.

You're a GUEST here. As someone who doesn't live in Broadlands, frequenting forums dedicated to Broadlands residents, you should show even more respect to the residents here. These forums are NOT your soapbox. These forums are NOT your blog. These forums are NOT your journal. These forums are NOT your playground. These forums are NOT your courtroom.

You insult Broadlands residents on multiple occaisons, claim you're being persecuted, and polute our forums with endless drivle, and throw around accusations and conspiracy theories that are more far fetched than what could be found in some tabloids.

Do me a favor Lee, go away...

I am suprised no one has asked yet, Cliff how is your son? I hope all is well, I had a scare with my son's eye when he was 9 months old and couldn't pray enough that no damage occured. My prayers are with your son and your family.

I'm still not a supporter of the location of the hospital in the Broadlands. A new hospital in Loudoun? Yes! In Broadlands? No. That is just my opinion and I respect people who support the hospital that live in the Broadlands. I hope we can respect each other's opinions and agree that we have different views on the issue. Communication is much more effective in person than on these boards.

HCA has and probably will continually refine the plans for the hospital since it's first proposal to make it palatable for the residents and BOS so they can get their support and ultimately their approval. Whenever you decide to build anything that may face public scrutiny, you try and get feedback from the public to understand their concerns. Sometimes they are valid, sometimes it's NIMBY and sometimes it's just a misunderstanding of project facts.

I still remember many conversations with Mr. Deering (former CEO of BRMC and friend) about the fact that Loudoun and the surrounding area lacked a very good pediatric hospital. I told him several times to offer the pediatric route and people will get on board a lot faster than a they would for a mental health facility. On a side note, I still miss Joe Dimaggio's Children Hospital in South Florida where unfortunately we had to visit the emergency room with a life threaten injury to one of our kids. Everything turned out great in the end, but to be with my little buddy sitting on his hospital bed watching the train go around the room and having an ice pop with him made him feel so much more comfortable about the situation that we were facing.

    Have a good day everybody,
    Genco

He's fine. The doctor said 2mm more and he would have lost vision. Fortunately, eyes heal extremely fast.
And, as I posted, the pediatric staff at the Loudoun ER did a great job.

Inova top ranked in the US

    http://www.loudountimes.com/news/2008/jul/02/inova-loudoun-hospital-gets-high-marks-value/

All this INOVA bashing and INOVA is a top ranked hospital both for value and care.

I don't see the HCA Reston one on the list. . How Come if HCA is supposed to be the godsend for hospital care in Loudoun???? Inspite of this study I believe you get good care at most hospitals. THe BRMC is not about whether we need another hospital in this county it is about proper land use and the people that bought closest to this property before the hospital was proposed.

Re: Inova top ranked in the US

What list are you referring to? I see no 'list' in the article. When I went to the Data Advantage website to get a copy of the report/list, I was given a very high-level summary, and offered to opportunity to 'purchase' the full report/list. They DID indicate that they had surveyed HCA Reston.

So, since you seem to indicate you saw the actual list: "I don't see the HCA Reston one on the list", could you enlighten us as to what they said about HCA Reston, since the producers of the report indicate that HCA Reston is part of the list you are referring to...

Feel free to verify this for yourself: http://www.hospitalvalueindex.com

Lee - I thought you are on vacation? Ok - I am going to "bite" at your bait...

Lets aggregate the numbers - straight from the Data Advantage, LLC web-site
    http://www.hospitalvalueindex.com/VIGridSum1.aspx

Out of a possible 100 point index - Inova Loudoun Ranked 55.9, except for Warren Inova has the least amount of beds - report reflects 133 beds.

LHI has come a LONG way since 2000 and some would argue that "the fear of competition, (ie - HCA's BRMC)" may been the catalyst for the dramatic improvements (such as the new surgical tower, expansion of ER and new PEDS ER) all of which benefit the community LHI serves. BUT - LHI & Inova still have a long way to go, LHI is NOT a teaching hospital, does not pay taxes and have demonized or simply purchased any competitor who wants enter into their domain.

Competition creates a synergistic relationship and the community at large is the true benefactor - with out competition Inova affectively perpetuates a healthcare monopoly in Loudoun and most of NoVA.

We can all go round and round on the appropriate interpretation of Land use or lack there of - however the simple truth is Loudoun needs more hospital beds. The current healthcare landscape in NoVA clearing indicates that Inova has a
M O N O P O L Y and many Loudoun residents continue to leave the county for specialized care.

Re: Inova top ranked in the US

Mr Linux no matter what I do I can't seem to satisfy you.

You have to buy the list if I post it here then you will chastise me for posting copyrighted material that must be purchased.

I was just making a point INOVA is not the evil hospital and has high rankings for value and care and HCA system also has excellent care in my opinion.

Even Cliff complimented INOVA for the excellent care he got for his son there even tho he goes after them every chance he gets.

Pea it has always been a land use issue with me and the fact that the closest residents affected by this land use change do not want it and they were there first so buy them out and make them happy, which should not be a problem for the hospital if these homes are going to way up in value because of the hospital. The hospital could make money if they believe they are correct. Could be housing for the people that work at the hospital. win win The Broadlands because of it's strategic location in the county should set an extremely high bar in land use because what happens in the broadlands will be used by others in this county for other land use issues.

Now back to my vacation from these forums and I really do promise I am going to stay away as much as possible but last nights very late phone call and the post here was a bit much. As a matter of fact I am not going to post for at least a week. Is that a good start MR Linux????

Lee - funny the rest of the County pretty much told Broadlands what they thought...remember the Broadlands Recreation center? - sorry back to the topic and now banging my head on my desk - so let me spell this out for you and yes I am freaking yelling:

    Y O U - D O N 'T - L I V E - N E A R - T H E - S I T E (nor in broadlands)

    L O U D O U N - N E E D S - M O R E - H O S P I T A L - B E D S

    I N O V A - H A S - A -H E A L T H C A R E - M O N O P O L Y

...either build the damn thing or move on - Loudoun's Govt (our tax dollars) are wasting too much time and money... put a fork in me - I'm done - especially with you - go blog or stir the pot some where else.

Re: Inova top ranked in the US

No Lee, you indicated that HCA Reston didn't make it on the list: "I don't see the HCA Reston one on the list". Since you have the list, could you please tell us where exactly Inova Loudoun ranked and where HCA Reston ranked? I'm not asking you to publish the whole list, just asking you to post the 2 rankings.

I'm simply confused. You're stating the list you have doesn't show HCA Reston, but the website indicates that it is indeed part of the list. All I'm asking is for you to look at the list again and tell us where each is ranked. Is that so hard?

Or do you not have the list at all?
