My sister is getting married and asked me to pick some appropriate music for the church. I don't know much about classical music so if anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate hearing them. The music will be played on the church organ.

    Thanks!

    Trumpet Voluntary! :)

I'm pretty sure you can see/hear clips of most of these songs on You Tube.

We used 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland' as our recessional. Quite appropriate since it was snowing like a big dog!

It would be helpful if you let us know what instruments you're talking about... just organ? Piano? Any strings?

    Bag pipes?

I was at a wedding where they used bag pipes (3 of them) and luckily it was outside. Loud as heck!

Well, wait - give us some background. If the guy is military use the 1812 overture for the recessional (WITH cannon, thank you). If he's Navy Aviation, use Faltermeyer's TopGun Anthem for the processional (I have an electric guitar!).

Thanks!! Lots of great ideas! I could do a Bart and slip the organist inagoddadavida. I did suggest NIN Head Like a Whole but was nixed.

    sharse - organ only.

Based on this post, my guess is "Here Comes the Sun". Am I the winner?

Here is what we used pre/during/exit of our ceremony:

    • Beethovens Symp # 9 - Ode to Joy
    • Jim Brickman - Love never fails, Beautiful (as you), Love of my life
    • George Winston Pachabels' cannon
    • ...for our exit - we had the "peanuts song" (also by George Winston)
we had a local pianist (sp?) play during our ceremony (I am a classicially trained violinist - love the piano - but I couldnt master that skill).

Best of luck and I hope this helps - PM me and I can get you a copy of our wedding CD music.
