agree'd. I've seen 2 marriages and countless relationships broken up over WOW.

Quit now before getting started. Huge consumption of time and does impact family. I dropped my account even though I got my Undead Warrior up to lvl 70 and have been much happier ever since.

I am on scarletcrusade server. I am lucky I don't have an addictive personality. I only play a couple of hours per month. I am still lvl 47 :p But it has messed up a lot of people some have even died. Crazy stuff.

My neighbor and I are on Medivh, Alliance side. We have lvl 70's and a great guild!

We try to only play after the wife and kids are in bed. If you let it control your schedule, it WILL affect your personal life negatively.

But man, I gotta tell you, it soooooo much fun!

Lemme hijack and ask if there are any "Dungeons and Dragons Online" players out there. I dabbled in WoW and it was too cartoony for me, sorry, I need my fantasy games to be a little more realistic looking. I even played some LoTRO as well, but that felt too much like WoW.

    Here is my main:

    http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Malfurion&n=Scrud

Have two alts but they are not showing up in the Armory.

Loved playing and miss it some. But there were too many nights on raids til 2-3 AM after the wife went to bed that just wore me out.

Since we have the new addition to the pea pod, I need all the energy I can get.

I just started playing last month on Blackwater Raiders server. I used to play Everquest but got sick of how slow the progress was. It was for teens with nothing but time on their hands. WoW is great in that you don't have to play non-stop to progress in the game.

Just in case, if I get kicked out of my house by my wife and kid I may need a place to crash...

Oh, I'm sort of committed to this server now, but be careful to see what time zone the server is geared toward. The Blackwater Raiders is a West Coast time zone server so the hours I might like to play may not be the best times to look for groups and such!

I am another WoW player and have been playing it since Beta. I have a level 70 mage on Stormrage and a level 65 pally. I don't actively raid as I cant dedicate the time the guild needs for it, but mainly just pvp and really enjoy it. Mainly play in the night from 9pm-11pmish once the wife goes to bed. If anyone wants to go together to purchase WotLK at midnight post here. All the Broadlands WoW community can carpool!

Speaking of you WoW crazies (jk!), I was on newegg the other day looking at those new 64GB SSD drives and I had a good chuckle at this review:

"Pros: I bought the drive to reduce lag in WoW due to hard drive thrashing - especially in cities like Shattrath and battlegrounds like AV"

    ...

    good times! 8)

It would be cool if there was a P&P D&D game in the Broadlands area.

There are times I miss the old ways.

We like playing WoW in our house. Like any computer game, as long as it is played in moderation it is a great pasttime.

I actually still have the first module GG ever wrote. I think I have about 6-8 modules packed away with the good 'ol monster manual and a few others. I used to play that P&P style all the time over 25 yrs ago. Too many commitments these days for the tme, but you made me think.... :) Good ol days. I do get a few hours on Friday night to play it online though.

I don't play WoW. Been a big player of MUDs for about the last 13 years with the middle few years cut out for HS, girls, and guitar. Anyway... you can't beat text-based roleplaying games especially with permadeath.

Anyway, anyone played Warhammer: Age of Reckoning? It's been AWESOME so far.
