We're headed to a concert at Nissan Pavilion tomorrow night. As we've never been there, we were wondering if anybody has any advice about routes/parking/etc.

    Thanks!

If it's a sold out concert and you want to get out quickly, definitely pay the extra $20 (I think that's what it costs) for the preferred parking. You can stay for the encore, walk to your car and be out in a few minutes. Enjoy the concert!

If you want to get there on time...LEAVE REAL EARLY. The roads to get there are not the best and traffic builds up FAST. Traffic will start on 66 near Rt 234 (I think that's the road) and could take you another 30-45 minutes from there. It's been several years since I've been there ( primarily because it's such a pain to get there)...maybe some roads have changed to help it out. Enjoy the concert

Thanks for your advice! I think everything worked out so well because it wasn't a sold-out concert. We took the back way to the concert (Gum Springs to Rte. 234 to Rte. 29 to University Blvd), and the drive was scenic and quick.

Premiere parking is actually $30 now, so we just parked in the regular lot. Again, the concert wasn't sold out (Jars of Clay & Switchfoot), so it didn't take long to get out.

In addition to the ridiculous price of VIP parking, a bottle of water was $4 and an ice treat was $7. We ate before we got there, brought our own water, loved the concert, and then left.

Glad you had such a good time. How was Jars of Clay? We used to listen to their stuff all the time and loved it. The back way is definitely quicker and scenic, but my brother always drives so I don't know the way.

Wow, $30 for VIP Parking? We were there earlier this summer and it was $20 (and I thought last year it was $10, oh well). You definitely made the right call!

Jars of Clay was excellent! I loved seeing them in such a big venue; I'd previously seen them in a high school gym, an auxiliary gym at Messiah College, and at the Birchmere, so the big stage and set-up was really cool to see.

My only complaint was that their set lasted 30 minutes (there were 4 bands performing, so between playing, tear down, and set up for each band, the sets were short). EXCEPT for Switchfoot...they rocked! A good hour-long set...it was sweet!

If you haven't heard Jars in a while, I recommend their 2003 release Who We Are Instead.

And the $30 premiere parking lot was quite empty.
