The problem is that the kids using the airsoft weapons are not mature enough to use them. I myslef play airsoft, but do so in a mature, and not in neighborhoods. You have to be 18 to purchase an airsoft weapon, so the real fault is in the parents descion making. Even tho it is legal for kids below the age of 18 to use an airsoft weapon, they cannot purchase them. So, if the parents do purchase these for their kids, they need to make sure the kids go to designated fields to play with them. There has been so much criticism twoards airsoft because of these young kids doing stupid things with them. Yet there is nothin wrong with airsoft, and people who do not know much about, come to negitive conclusions because of the actions of the kids who do not know better. The real problem is the parents buying these toys for their child. Please realize this.

just kids having fun...I've been hit at close range in some vulnerable parts of the body, head, knuckles, unmentionables, and have never had any real damage. a little plastic ball isn't going to kill you. I doubt these kids were running around with real pellet guns.

"A little plastic ball" CAN kill you if it hits your car while you are driving and you have an accident! I think that's what was originally stated, that kids were shooting at cars driving by.

There have been numerous instances of shopping center lights getting hit. Those lenses are expensive, and the costs get passed on to the businesses, most of which are local mom and pops. It's just as bad as the graffiti problem we had a while back until those kids got caught.

And of course, when we were all younger there were not shows, video games and movies (at least the ones we couldn't get into) that show violence as almost incidentally random as they do now. Nobody would have shot another kid just to get his jacket, shoes, or becuase of a means nothing really fight! So I guess we do have to be more vigilant about what we see, for teaching moments or whatever. We had the campy Batman, The lone Ranger, Hogan's Heroes, etc. Even the detective and cops shows were semi-campy...until Hill Street Blues came around.
